Publisher's summary

It is the year 5170 in the land Agora, where humans, dwarves, and elves have existed in peace for centuries. Now, however, the human King Addakon has invaded and waged war on neighboring Isladon. The once peaceful Kingdoms of Agora are on the brink of continental war. The Dark Elf Eadon, and his army of Dragon-Elf crossbreeds, the Draggard, threaten to conquer all kingdoms. Enter young Whill, a 19-year-old ranger with battle savvy and untapped abilities. Having spent years roaming Agora and training with his mentor Abram, Whill has become a bright intellectual and a master of combat. Along the way, Whill encounters an equally inspired group of companions that are matched in skill and mission. What he seeks most, however, is the identity of his birth parents. Instead, he finds a tumultuous terrain and a prophecy placing him in the center of the struggle.

Fast-moving, excellent performance.

Where does Whill of Agora: Whill of Agora, Book 1 rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Probably ranks in the top 10 audiobooks.

Any additional comments?

I agree that it is more accurately classified as YA, but it is still an engaging story. Fast-paced, fun, and an excellent performance by Graham Halstead. Not overly serious, but well-written and characters are identifiable. Recommend.

amazingly terrible

The language is so horably trite it is insane! Thus we shall go....thus we shall do this or now we shall do that. its like listening to a high school English student try to write old English conversations. the narrator seemed to have graduated from the captain Kirk school of speech. EVERYTHING,,, IS,,, SOOOOO,,, DRAMATICALLY,, IMPORTANT. And EVERY character is the same. there is no sense of place or time. The author has NO CLUE of any kind of economy. the distance anything moves on foot or wagon or SHIP!!!. He hasn't even bothered to look at how difficult it would be to hit the broad side of a barn with a bow! This thing is simply terrible and i am shocked and dismayed that it could get so high an approval rating. I have read alot of ratings of other books on Audible but this rating makes me think that they must have gotten rid of the realy bad ones to skew the results higher for some reason.

All of the ingredients of epic fantasy, but

it doesnt quite reach it's potential. For one there is little world building and very littel, or original magic system. I think the author has potential and I will probably buy the next book. I liked the narrator, while he did have consistent voices for the characters, the range in the voices were not distenctive enough and at times I would have to concentrate on who was speaking.

A great series

The most upbeat characters hardened by the hard decisions that face them and how they over come their challenges. Well read and written.

it's a decent story.

I had to struggle through this one. It is reminiscent of the high fantasy short story I wrote when I was 12 years old. hopefully the writing gets better as I progress through.

Great job by the narrator! That was the only good.

Struggled to finish this one. Needed a more lengthy editing process. The story wasn't bad, just imagine Star Wars storyline meets LOTR setting. There were MANY uses of the word "many" and the phrase "great many". The overall story wasn't bad, just crawled at times, and was just played out. I was recommended this book by a good friend, going to think about future recommendations more from that source. Skip this one, time would be better spent elsewhere.

Please dont judge this book bybthe narrator!

I originally read this series on Kindle. I loved the story and the characters. When Book 6 came out, I needed to remember the story so I bought Book 1 on Audible...the narrator is so bad I had a hard time finishing. But go read it!
