Publisher's summary

In the continued journey of the characters Gravakus and Natalie from the novel 'Stanley Swanson - Breed of a Werewolf,' the plot deepens as their forbidden love, born out of the mysterious lore surrounding creatures of the night, becomes a focal point of their existence. Gravakus, having fallen deeply for Natalie, finds himself entangled in a situation that demands decisive action to ensure their safety amidst the turbulent world of supernatural beings.

Realizing the imminent threat they face, Gravakus acknowledges the need to take himself and Natalie far away, seeking refuge in the remote and perilous heights of the highest mountain peaks. Undeterred by the challenges ahead, Natalie willingly chooses to accompany Gravakus, their unyielding love for each other unraveling as they embark on a perilous journey into the unknown.

Unbeknownst to them, a fierce war rages far below their secluded sanctuary. The word of the union between these two creatures of the night, considered forbidden by the supernatural hierarchy, reaches the ears of the highest authority, the formidable Drakulis. As the news of Gravakus and Natalie's unconventional love affair spreads, it sets into motion a series of events that will test the limits of their devotion.

The narrative takes an unexpected turn when a formidable threat emerges, one that forces Gravakus to confront a dilemma of monumental proportions. Faced with a choice between leaving to protect his beloved Natalie or staying to confront the unpredictable and potentially catastrophic consequences of their union, Gravakus finds himself at a crossroads.

The novel skillfully weaves together elements of romance, fantasy, and suspense as it explores the complexities of forbidden love in the supernatural realm. Gravakus and Natalie's journey becomes a microcosm of the larger conflict brewing in the supernatural world, adding layers of intrigue and tension to the narrative.

A Draculus and his werewolf!

The treaty between the werewolves and vampires starts to fray, signaling trouble for Natalie and her vampire savior. She was distraught over his death and takes her own life by injecting silver into her vein. But her lover did not die and searches for her, finding her close to death. Bringing her back to "life" with his bite, she lives, but as what? A new breed? They make a new life, away from civilization, and with a miracle as proof of their love.
The narration is well-done by Adrienne James. She gives each character a singular, well-modulated voice.

Honestly I was skeptical at first because I am new the genre but I am so happy that I gave this book a shot before any others. I was so excited the whole way through and I was kept on the edge of my seat. Do not hesitate to buy this book!

Not as good

This is a short book but it's not the norm for this author. Not very well developed. Narration is very good though.

Interesting enough first book in a series.

Very short novella.
Enough background to want to get invested. Forbidden love troupe between werewolf and elite vamp.

Listened via audio. It was ok. I personally think narration could have been a bit better, I didn’t get any feelings coming through from the narrator and voice was a little to monotone for me.

Gifted audio in exchange for an honest review.

ummm....what?

This is a absolute train wreak. It made no sense. It's like Twilight written by a high schooler. It took me three sittings to finish listening to this book and it is only 1 hour long. It would take me an hour just to write everything that was wrong with it. I don't plan on listening to any other books in the sequel.

Interesting Storyline

Intrigued by the premise of the story; but, it needs to be reviewed by a good editor for clarity and composition. Aside from the structural challenges and grammatical issues, I was interested in the plot. However, the story would have been much more compelling if it had been "fleshed" out a little more.

The narrator, Adrienne James, has a pleasant voice; but, it was incongruous to the storyline. There were also significant "shifts" in the voice work - making it easy to identify when the narrator began a new recording session or replaced/edited her work. Ms. James has the perfect voice for bedtime stories, not so much for supernatural suspense.

Overall, I think the story has great potential and I think the author will find substantial success with "Uncommon Lust" if he does a little fine-tuning and finds a more suitable narrator. Best wishes for your future endeavors, Mr. Ballinger.

Quick PNR listen

Natalie and Gravakus is a quick PNR listen. Interesting story line but the narration fell short making it hard to keep my interest. The story it’s self is a worth the listen
