More than three million series copies in print!

Hell on Earth.

That’s what it’s like for Luce to be apart from her fallen angel boyfriend, Daniel. It took them an eternity to find one another, but now he has told her he must go away. Just long enough to hunt down the Outcasts - immortals who want to kill Luce. Daniel hides Luce at Shoreline, a school on the rocky California coast with unusually gifted students: Nephilim, the offspring of fallen angels and humans.

At Shoreline, Luce learns what the Shadows are, and how she can use them as windows to her previous lives. Yet the more Luce learns, the more she suspects that Daniel hasn’t told her everything. He’s hiding something - something dangerous. What if Daniel’s version of the past isn’t actually true? What if Luce is really meant to be with someone else?

It's just Okay

A bunch of times I found myself very bored with this book. I liked the first one better. I hope the next one will be so much interesting than this one. If the third one doesn't get any better I will stop listening/reading to this series. My time is too precious and there are a lot of more interesting choices out there!

Well Done!

I thoroughly enjoyed the character in Fallen and now Torment. It has been a pleasure to see the development of the previous characters and the introduction of new characters and how they may influence the former characters. I find myself torment and am not sure if I am routing for the relationship to work out or not. The ending leaves just enough to have you wanting more...next stop: Passion.

Love the Story, Hate the Audio

Would you consider the audio edition of Torment to be better than the print version?

Nooooooooooo. The reader was nasally and the abook kept skipping.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Torment?

I loved when Miles kissed Luce. Daniel can go kick rocks!

How did the narrator detract from the book?

The narrator had a nasally, winy sound to her voice. It was very, very annoying.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Back to the Miles kiss!

The book was fine, it was just her voice.

this book is pretty great, not as good as the first book though. and I feel kind of bad to say this, but the lady who read it, her voice was a little annoying. but that's okay, I struggled to finish a little bit because it I read the first book without audible and it was easier instead of listening to this lady's voice and the audible version. That's probably just me but, the book is still pretty good.

More Information, Happier Listener

Installment two had way more than I expected for it to have. I was given more information about character backgrounds and things are starting to make more sense in which I feared wouldn't happen, but it did. It also seemed like the story really kicked itself into gear with much more action in this second book. Luce is starting to show us more than just her feelings for Daniel, so that's an exciting twist. I definitely fell in love with a couple more characters in this book. Beware of the cliff hanger at the end, it's a good one though! So ready for book three!!!

Read the books, loved the audio

I read this series years ago and I loved it! I love anything supernatural, specially angels!!!! I don’t remember what happens, besides all the time travel in the next book. I find Daniel too ambiguous, sometimes very cold. He makes her feel abandoned and I hate it! I love all the characters from Shoreline Academy. I didn’t want the book to end.

This review is sloppy because I haven’t slept in more than 24 hours. But I’d recommend it to my friends! I’ve been reading more adult books, than YA, but I’m a very young soul, so I do enjoy YA.

Great plot, but a lot of filler.

I love the idea behind this story, but just like with Fallen i find myself wondering, "Um, can we just get to the point already?" The story is full of fluffy little moments which are cool for first books, but kinda tedious when you have been waiting a year for the next installment. Great plot, love the new characters and the explanations behind last book's villains. It gets exciting towards the last couple chapters and sets it up nicely for the next book in the series.

I am a sucker for a good love triangle and this story has it again. I recommend picking it up if you liked fallen, but if you are impatient you might want to preview it.

These books are truly a great joy to listen to, every second had me rooting for the main characters and their success.
