Publisher's summary

With three of the goddess Durga's quests behind them, only one prophecy now stands in the way of Kelsey, Ren, and Kishan breaking the tiger's curse. But the trio's greatest challenge awaits them: A life-endangering pursuit in search of Durga's final gift, the Rope of Fire, on the Andaman Islands in the Bay of Bengal.

It's a race against time - and the evil sorcerer Lokesh - in this eagerly anticipated fourth volume in the best-selling Tiger's Curse series, which pits good against evil, tests the bonds of love and loyalty, and finally reveals the tigers' true destinies once and for all.

Amazing!

Have really enjoyed this 4th installment in the Tigers Curse series. The story line builds beautifully from one book to the next and leaves you wanting more. I am in my 40's and even though this is considered a YA book, I truely find it enjoyable. It is not filled with typical "teenage" dilemmas or angst. Excellent story line filled with wonderful history/myths of India. I would recommend book/series for any age.

Wraps up the story nicely!

This was a well done conclusion to this YA fantasy series. I know there is a fifth book planned for this series, called The Tiger’s Dream. However, since release is undetermined for that book and this book does an excellent job wrapping up the series...I am considering it the wrap-up/final book for this series. There is a lot of adventure and action and mythology in here which I loved. I was still frustrated by the whole love triangle; it makes the characters (who are otherwise pretty intelligent) come of as dumb and immature.

There is only one prophecy left in the Tiger’s Curse. To break the last portion of the curse Kelsey, Ren, and Kishan must travel to one of the islands in the Bay of Bengal to track down the Rope of Fire. With Lokesh is hot on their heels things are more dire than ever. Can Kelsey, Ren, and Kishan break the last part of the Tiger’s Curse before it’s too late?

I still have a bit of a love/hate relationship with this series. I love the adventure, travel, and mythology. I hate the love triangle and the inconsistency and vagueness around how the magic items work.

In this book there is more travel, excitement, and adventure as we get to travel to the Andaman Islands. All of our favorite characters are here. We meet even more mythical creatures and even get to travel through time to see the origins of the Goddess Durga.

While I really enjoy the setting and magic in this series I continue to be very frustrated about the whole love triangle thing. Kelsey is just being cruel to Kishan and has been for the last two books. With all the “energy” between her and Ren and the way they would both rather die than be apart from each other how can she keep stringing along Kishan? Then there is Kishan’s attitude; he loves all the pretty women and although he professes love for Kelsey he doesn’t shy from ogling others. It’s just silly. Still to prevent spoilers I won’t say who Kelsey ends up with...however I will say it is very predictable and pretty much a no brainer. Why the angst over it for these last couple books?

Anyway, I enjoyed the plot in this book a lot and loved how the final portion of the Tiger’s Curse was broken. The time travel added an interesting twist to everything and I enjoyed it. A lot happens in this book and the story takes some interesting twists and turns.

Things are absolutely and completely tied up in this book. There aren’t any loose ends at all; so I am not sure why a fifth book is planned for this series. On Huock’s blog she mentions that the release for book 5, The Tiger’s Dream, is undetermined because she is working on other projects. I also read that Book 5 is supposed to talk about Kelsey and her life after the curse (again omitting any Tiger names to prevent spoilers).

Overall a good conclusion to this YA fantasy series. I have loved the adventure, the travel, the magic, and the curse breaking in this series. I enjoyed the characters as well. I hated, hated, hated the love triangle. It felt so forced throughout and made the characters seem dumb...it just didn’t do the story or the characters justice at all. I also didn’t like how inconsistent the use of the magic items was; they don’t seem to follow any rhyme or reason. I don’t really plan on reading any more books by Huock, but I would recommend this series if you are looking for a good YA adventure fantasy and don’t mind corny love triangles.

I love this series and it went out with a bang!!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I highly recommend this whole series. I loved it so much I finished it and wasn't quite ready to let it go, so I listened again from the beginning. It has love, adventure, a little twist, and it kept my attention the whole time.

What did you like best about this story?

The whole story!

Which character – as performed by Annika Boras – was your favorite?

Phet. I laughed every time I heard her do his voice.

Any additional comments?

Don't miss out on this great series!

Tiger's Destiny Book 4

I really enjoyed this series and now hear there is another book in the works! Can't wait. A clever theme that is totally different coupled with action. The narrator is very good. I find myself checking when the new book will be out.

Great conclusion to series yet unexpected..

What did you love best about Tiger's Destiny?

The way the series ending came together.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Ren. Faithful, enduring, mature.

What does Annika Boras bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Oh, she is superb! Without the reading you do not get the true Indian flavor of the books.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Many parts in this book made me cry.

Any additional comments?

The girls teen-aged angst is overplayed. A weak, insecure girl would never had taken the first step of this 2 year journey. But I really like the series of 4 books. I would skim over some of the parts to get to the core of the books and I found them enjoyable and well worth the read.

A Great Book needs a Great Storyteller

Would you listen to Tiger's Destiny again? Why?

The narrator is wonderful. She does the girl and guy voices and makes it sound like there are a bunch of different narrators. She does the indian accents and others perfect like she did with the rest of the series. I wish she did more audio work. I hate when the main character is a girl and a man is talking with his normal voice when the main girl is narrating.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Tiger's Destiny?

The ending! And everything before that.

What about Annika Boras’s performance did you like?

She did multiple voices so wonderfully. Her time in acting pays off.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Destiny will be sealed

Any additional comments?

Need more of this narrator.

A Epic Conclusion to an Epic Love Story

What did you love best about Tiger's Destiny?

The whole book, it was an amazing start, middle and ending. It really is an amazing love story.

What other book might you compare Tiger's Destiny to and why?

I have no book to compare this to because each book or book series is different to me and how it has affected me.

What does Annika Boras bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I love Annika Boras as a reader. She brought the characters to life.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I finished this book in two weeks.

A satisfying conclusion

What made the experience of listening to Tiger's Destiny the most enjoyable?

I have heard there are to be five books in this series, but after listening to this book, I am thinking Tiger's Destiny is the final one. The conclusion just felt so satisfying which is awesome. Some books don't give you that. I have loved this series so it is great to have it end so well.

I loved that Kelsey finals figures out who to be with - Ren or Kishan and stops driving them both nuts.

As usual for this series, it is full of adventure and romance! And the beginning sure starts out with a bang! The story gripped right from the first few minutes.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Tiger's Destiny?

Meeting Durga in the past. Put a whole new twist on the entire series - I remembered back to particular scenes and saw them differently.

What does Annika Boras bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Love all the accents and characterizations. I don't know how she remembers the exact intonation for each of those many characters, but she does it. I can tell who is talking just from the way she speaks for each one.

Hindi Fantasy

I was told some reviews called these books racist?? I do not read reviews as I like to form my own opinion. I saw nothing racist in these books. It is a fantasy about an Indian legend. Very well written and narrated. It's a love story that wraps it's arms around you and will not let you go until the end... a beautiful and sometimes even educational. But never racist!!

Amazing Finale

Any additional comments?

Colleen Houck has done an incredible job of maintaining The Tiger Saga's excitement, adventure, tenderness, and passion with Tiger's Destiny. I've said before that this is one of my all-time favorite series, and with its final book, that statement still holds true.

Colleen Houck's ability to tell a great story that is unbelievable—yet believable—is one of her many talents. She is just as phenomenal at creating characters who are so relatable that the reader has no choice but to laugh when the characters laugh, cry when the characters cry (very real crocodile tears), and love when the characters love.

I'm not going to give anything away. This saga is too special for someone (other than Colleen Houck) to tell about it. In order to fully enjoy Tiger's Destiny, you must read it, experience it, and fall in love with it yourself. That can't be done if you get bits and pieces because they will absolutely spoil the adventure and rid you of the angst you must feel as you try to theorize about the character's destinies as the story plays out.

In my opinion, Colleen Houck wrapped the series up perfectly while leaving the tiniest opening for it to continue should she ever want to resurrect The Tiger Saga. For that, I'm thankful because as soon as I finished, I felt that familiar letdown that has followed the ending of every one of the The Tiger Saga's book. No matter how nicely everything was wrapped up, I still want more Kelsey, Ren, Kishan, and Durga.
