Publisher's summary

It's been months since Aria learned of her mother's death.

Months since Perry became Blood Lord of the Tides, and months since Aria last saw him.

Now Aria and Perry are about to be reunited. It's a moment they've been longing for with countless expectations. And it's a moment that lives up to all of them. At least at first. Then it slips away. The Tides don't take kindly to former Dwellers like Aria. And the tribe is swirling out of Perry's control. With the Aether storms worsening every day, the only remaining hope for peace and safety is the Still Blue. But does this haven truly exist?

Threatened by false friends and powerful temptations, Aria and Perry wonder: Can their love survive through the ever night? In this second book in her spellbinding Under the Never Sky trilogy, Veronica Rossi combines fantasy and sci-fi elements to create a captivating adventure - and a love story as perilous as it is unforgettable.

Awesome!

This story so far is one of my faves. The characters are amazing, the story is intricate and well thought out, and the setting is wild and exciting. Definitely recommend :)

even better than the last one

Would you consider the audio edition of Through the Ever Night to be better than the print version?

I read the book in five hours and thought it was amazing. So well written and such a compelling storyline. middle books are often fillers, this was not. it was action packed and full of great stories that will link the two books on each side together. now I get to listen to it on audio which gives me another experience and I love to hear the story with another voice. especially as I'm female and English and the narrator is male and American! brilliant!

What other book might you compare Through the Ever Night to and why?

hard to directly compare books but there's shades of a lot of books, Logan's run comes to mind as does a number of other dystopians but for quality of writing, it is way out there.

Which character – as performed by Michael Goldstrom – was your favorite?

I'm sure I'm not alone having a soft spot for Roar who gets some real ink time in this book, bless him and of course Perry and Aria are still adorable too.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

a few actually but without giving away spoilers I will choose a benign one. the turtle falcon!

Any additional comments?

I very rarely post reviews, a book has to be rather special for me to gush about it.

Awesome series, narration for this one is lacking

What a great follow up to the first novel! Gripping story and characters. New narrator for this book wasn't great - read VERY slow. At times I wondered if my app stopped working because he would pause so long between sentences. The voices he did for the female characters sounded nasally false - took a while to get used to. Still worth a listen!

Very entertaining book #2

It was better than the first! I'm hoping in the next book that Aria gets a second sense & maybe becomes a Skier.

In love with these books

Narrator is tough at the beginning, but it's worth it. WOW what a story. This second book did not disappoint...

PLEASE bring back Bernadette Dunne Flagler!

What did you like best about Through the Ever Night? What did you like least?

I wish I had something constructive to say but alas, I am just going to rant about the narrator at this point. If you loved the narration on "Under the Never Sky", be very wary of this book.

I thought "Under the Never Sky" was one of the best listens I've ever had from Audible. Bernadette Dunne Flagler was AMAZING - she just did an amazing job performing that book. I was SO, SO looking forward to hearing her again on this sequel.

Well, they didn't bring her back, for whatever reason. (Only DEATH would be a good enough reason, to my mind, and I certainly hope and pray THAT wasn't the case!)

I am about fifteen minutes into the MUCH anticipated "Through the Ever Night", and already I can envision myself bashing my head against my keyboard in frustration and misery.

This narrator is TERRIBLE! And he doesn't pronounce "Scire" correctly! He says it "sire"...in the first book it clearly says that it is supposed to sound kind of like "scare". Rrrgghh! I can't stand narrators who don't do their research! And he .... reads.... so ....freakin' .... slowly! It just sounds so fake. Sigh. Weep. Weep. Sob.

Sniff.

What did you like best about this story?

Will update this review when (IF) I can make it through this audiobook. I hope I can hear past the narrator and get into the story so I can actually FIND something to like.

What didn’t you like about Michael Goldstrom’s performance?

Was there anything TO like about this "narration"? So unemotional, so fake...no feeling of really being WITH the characters, as in the first book. I feel like someone is reading to me, not like I am INSIDE another world. He makes the characters sound childlike and goofy.

Aria is read as though she is a total melodramatic, wussy ...CHICK.

Perry is read like he is about fifteen and a little mentally challenged. Totally NOT sexy.

Bring back the narrator from "Under the Never Sky"!!!! Tears on my laptop keyboard.

Did Through the Ever Night inspire you to do anything?

Stab my ears with a sharpened pencil.

Any additional comments?

Get Bernadette Dunne Flagler to reprise this book! PLEASE get Bernadette Dunne Flagler back and rerecord this book so that it can be worthy of the first one! PLEASE!

Lukewarm

I read book one a while ago and just felt lukewarm about it. There was nothing that I couldnt stand. The realms were interesting and some of the ideas but the story never had me sucked in so much that I "couldnt put it down". I feel the same way about book 2. Overall listening while driving was enough to entertain me but it wasnt something that I was dying to get back to every time I was in the vehicle. I wouldnt say dont read it but I would say dont expect a riveting story. Its a good in-between book.
