Publisher's summary

Jacky Faber, rich from her exploits diving for Spanish gold, has purchased the Lorelei Lee to carry passengers across the Atlantic. Believing she has been absolved of past sins against the Crown, Jacky docks in London to take on her crew, but is instead arrested and sentenced to life in the newly formed penal colony in Australia. To add insult to injury, the Lorelei Lee is confiscated to carry Jacky and more than 200 female convicts to populate New South Wales.

Not one to give in to self pity, Jacky rallies her sisters to "better" their position - resulting in wild escapades, brushes with danger, and much hilarity. Will Jacky find herself a founding mother of New South Wales, Australia? Not if she has anything to do about it!

L. A. Meyer received a master of fine arts from Boston University, and is currently the curator and exhibitor at the Clair de Loon Gallery in Bar Harbor, Maine. He lives in Corea, Maine. Katherine Kellgren has recorded over 60 audiobooks including Bloody Jack, which won an Audie Award, a Publishers Weekly Listen Up Award, and ForeWord magazine's Audiobook of the Year.

Once again a great listen from Kellgren.

I'm sad that this book has ended and there are only a few left in the series. Kellgren is amazing. On part with Jim Dale of the Potter books.

EPIC!

I was worried about this one, because I didn't like Rapture of the Deep very much (seriously- the cock fights, the "Brother Rabbit" stories? So boring).

I'm happy to report that I needn't have worried, because the 8th installment of Meyer's adventure saga does not disappoint. The action, drama and comedy are nonstop, and often unexpected (and shocking, in the case of at least one act of violence that had me gasping in horror). Some of my favorite recurring characters were back, and we finally get to see Jaimy in on some pirate action - finally proving, in my opinion, that he is a worthy companion for our Jacky (I've often found him a bit stodgy in the past).

I especially liked the Author's note at the end, where it is revealed that many of the characters and parts of the story are from actual history, inspiring me to immediately head to the computer to do some research. It's great how much one can learn about history from listening to this series. Bravo, Mr. Meyer.

Katy Kellgren is, once again, MAGNIFICENT.

This is the best one since Jolly Roger and Bloodhound. As Jacky would say, "I wish you the joy" of this audiobook!

Please sir, may I have another??

I loved it! I love them all! I know very little of world history. If I knew more, I know these books would be even better, if that was possible. From the little I do know, it is fun to hear the names and to have Jackie spending time with these characters. It makes you feel like you know a little secrect and you are, in a small way, involved in these historical moments in time. Not only are these books fun all on their own, they give you a idea of what was going on all over the world, a much larger point of view of the time period. I hope they just keep on going until Jackie is old and grey! Thanks for writing such great books and choosing the PERFECT narrator for them!

Awesome

This book, like all its predecessors in the Bloody Jack series, does not disappoint. The narrator is unbelievably talented, and the story has many enjoyable layers.

Love from start to end

These books come alive anew every time I listen through them. They are my lovely Brain Candy books and even provide tips for living that have held me in good stead.

Fantastic & so much fun. Highly Recommend

This is such a fun & wonderful series.
Just can’t recommend it enough! And the narration is FANTASTIC.
I am very sad that both the wonderful author L.A. Meyer & & the amazing narrator,, have both left this world much too soon, KK at the young age of 48. Just so sad that no more books with be written or narrated by these two very talented people. Hope you both know wherever you are now, that your wonderful works continue to bring joy to more & more people.
