His classmates may consider him a nerd, but Benedict Pendleton knows he's destined for great things. All he has to do is find a worthy girlfriend, and his social station will be secured. Sure, Benedict is different - but that's what he likes about himself.
Pen Lupo is sick and tired of hiding who she is. On the outside Pen is popular, quiet, and deferential to her boyfriend. On the inside, however, Pen is honest, opinionated - and not sure that she's quite like other girls. Do they have urges like she does?
When fate intervenes, Pen and Benedict end up at the same vacation resort for winter break. Despite their differences, the two are drawn together. But is there such a thing as happily ever after for this unlikely pair?

The story is cute and I appreciate that the author incorporates sexuality and consent into the narrative. Teenagers deserve to know they aren't freaks for being horny little beasts and that consent is sexy. However, the acknowledgements portion of the book was dumb and confusing.
I usually don't read YA books, but if its narrated by Julia Whelan, then I'll have to read it because it'll be good...and also the story sounded good!
This book was so real as to what 'socially challenged ' kiddos are like. I liked the storyline, characters, and dialogue.
Fantastic book! I wish the author had more books!
It's definitely aimed towards teenagers that are discovering themselves. It's not called The Needy and the Dirty for no reason. There's a good bit of sex involved , and there's talk of masturbation. The characters face some awkward moments that would make anyone catch second-hand embarrassment. The narration was good. Overall a good read. I enjoyed the main characters.
This novel is fantastic for young people to have perspective of what most teenagers think and go through from one end of the social spectrum to the other and common denominator that binds them.
This book is filled with cringe , that im surprised that the narrators kept a straight face.Just a generic fish outta water mediocre attempt at a teen romace.
If you read it , i doubt that you could finish it without getting bored.
