FUN AND REFRESHING BOOK FOR EVERYONE!

I had no preconceived notion about this book but I was captivated from the start. This is a book that can be listened to and enjoyed by any age group. Share it definitely with your teenagers. I don't want to give away any of the details of the book as I don't want to ruin it for the listeners but it was one of those books you can't wait to see what happens next. It was great from beginning to end.

It never ceases to amaze me the depth of Mike Wells mind. He can write about anything and do it in such a way that you wonder how one man can have that much knowledge about so many things.

The narration in this book by Sue Sharp is also right on. A good narrator brings a great writers' words to life so that you believe you are right there sharing every moment.

The Mysterious Dissapearance of Kurt Kramer

I found this to be a very good book for teens and adults.Sue Sharp does a nice job narrating. Our main character,Kurt, and his friends and brother are on vacation and see an object fall from the sky. They investigate and Kurt gets sucked in.No one believes the other kids. (This was the part I had trouble with.Once you believe sometihng impossible is possible WHY do they insisit that everything else is still impossible. There was so much time spent conversing about NOT believeing one thing or another that it became annoying.) The police become involved, there is a lot of lying and disbelief by everyone involved. Do they ever find Kurt? You'll have to give it a listen.
This audiobook was provided to me at no cost for a fair and honest review

Great Pre-teen/Young Adult Mystery!

Any additional comments?

The Mysterious Disappearance of Kurt Kramer: Books 1 & 2 by Mike Wells is a great pre-teen/young adult story written in a similar style of R.L. Stein. With the digital age upon us, what better way to enjoy such a story than through one's earbuds?

This story centers on the sudden disappearance of Kurt, a teen boy from Chicago who is on vacation with his family and a couple of friends in Aruba. It includes both elements of science fiction and mystery, with a hint of romance (nothing more than a teenaged crush). What I enjoyed most about the story was the way the author built the reader's interest by keeping it suspenseful throughout. I couldn't help but feel the urgency in finding Kurt. The dialog was very natural and the characters were believable.

Sue Sharp narrated with great intonation and pace, and differing voices for male and female characters. Plus she was able to express urgency when appropriate without becoming shrill. I received a copy of this audio in exchange for an honest review. In short, I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this audio book!

Another fantastic book by Mike Wells!

Would you listen to The Mysterious Disappearance of Kurt Kramer again? Why?

Yes. The story and narrating were engaging; I would definitely listen to this one again!

Who was your favorite character and why?

Rachel. Even though the story was about Kurt's disappearance, I felt that Rachel really carried the story.

Have you listened to any of Sue Sharp’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I haven't listened to any of her other performances!

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Yes, there were several. When Dr. Kramer and Rachel had "bonding" moments and I can't say too much without revealing spoilers, BUT there was this one part near the end..........

Any additional comments?

I really enjoyed listening to this book. Mike Wells is an entertaining writer and knows how to tell a story that will grab you from the beginning and keep you hanging on until the end, no matter what genre the book is. AND prior to listening to any of Mike's books on audio, I rarely listened to audiobooks. In fact, I wasn't a fan. But now, I listen to them more frequently. However, Mike's books are basically the only ones I listen from start to finish with few breaks in between!
