Excellent naration brought the horror to life

Any additional comments?

I expected more of an adventure book than a horror novel. It was definitely the latter. However, the rich text and excellent narration made this a series I will continue to read.

Different and Enjoyable

Yancey goes back to the 1800s with this one and brings a mythical creature into reality. The heros are as odd as the monster. Kept me turning pages.

Very Enjoyable

A very good book and narration, but a fair warning, it can get somewhat graphic.

Better Than I Remembered

I read this book several years ago and had enjoyed it, but listening to it again now that I'm older made me appreciate it so much more. The reader had a great voice that made each character easy to seperate and truly embodied them. Definitely pick this up if you enjoy grumpy scientists and dysfunctional found families.

One of the most unique stories imaginable

Every element is a spoiler, a real chiller in the style of H.P. Lovecraft. A modern gothic classic.

Slow but wonderful

What did you love best about The Monstrumologist?

The monsters

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Monstrumologist?

There is a bit with a beast that rips up through the floor.

Have you listened to any of Steven Boyer’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

He is in good form on this one.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes.

Any additional comments?

A solid start to a series. If you can sit through the prolonged lulls, you get a lot of weird fiction moments out of the book.
