Publisher's summary

Abby’s senior year of high school is going according to plan: good friends, cute boyfriend, and college applications in the mail. But when Dante Alexander, foreign-exchange student from Italy, steps into her life, he turns it upside down. He’s mysterious, and interesting, and unlike anyone she’s ever met before. Abby can’t deny the growing attraction she feels for him. Nor can she deny the unusual things that seem to happen when Dante is around.

Soon Abby finds herself drawn into a mystery whose roots reach into sixteenth-century Florence, and she uncovers a dangerous truth that threatens not only her future but the lives of those she loves. This award-winning YA love story is the first in a trilogy.

Good Book Poor Narrator

Would you try another book from Lisa Mangum and/or Lisa Mangum?

Any additional comments?

A well written story but predictable. I would highly recommend purchasing the book instead of the audiobook. The narrator is absolutely dreadful and lacks the talent to do the book justice.

amazing

I have read this book so many times. It was amazing being able to listen to it, and read by Lisa Mangum herself! The Hourglass Door will forever be my favorite book.

Worth a listen

I really enjoyed this book, the characters are great and the story is interesting. It was hard to follow at times, but overall I would definitely recommend it. I am looking forward to listening to book 2 to see where the journey goes.

Great listening!

Loved this book, and its others that go with it! It really took time to write the details of time and dimension, and very impressed with how it all was laid out. I actually listened to this multiple times and enjoyed it.

I would say choosing an Italian is perfect for this storyline. Great job!

Suspend disbelief in the time travel mechanism used here and the story becomes more enjoyable.

The basis of the time travel door invention was too hard to swallow but by suspending disbelief, the other fantasy components make it easy to follow along and like the story.

Narration and writing was good.
