After saving Olympus from the evil Titan lord, Kronos, Percy and friends have rebuilt their beloved Camp Half-Blood, where the next generation of demigods must now prepare for a chilling prophecy of their own:
Seven half-bloods shall answer the call,
To storm or fire the world must fall.
An oath to keep with a final breath,
And foes bear arms to the Doors of Death.
Now, in a brand-new series from blockbuster best-selling author Rick Riordan, fans return to the world of Camp Half-Blood. Here, a new group of heroes will inherit a quest. But to survive the journey, they'll need the help of some familiar demigods.

Introducing the Roman gods was a bit confusing, at first, but it led to great discussions about history and how religions shifted with time and geography with my 7 year old and my 10 year old.
I loved this book but i have to say the reader mispronounced two of the major goddesses names. I thought that based on how well known they are it would be the last thing he would say wrong.
I really like the Inheritance series, if you haven't listened to those then go try it out (narrator is really good). But this is right after those, clever story, fun and although it took a while to get used the narrator I think he does a good job. At least he has pretty distinct voices which a lot of narrators lack.
When Jason confronts the giant and says his full title, really cool. The whole roman camp thing is really interesting, definitely a lot more intense then the Greeks.
Same as the most memorable moments, when Jason confronts the giant and says his full title and then they fight the giant. Really good.
Yes and I almost did at times. Listened for over 5 hours one day. Really good.
If you're a fan of Percy Jackson and the Olympians you'll love this. It's got it's cheesy things like in the other books but is extremely clever in it's new ideas. Really funny, actiony (if that were a word) and just a good book overall. Need to have read the Percy Jackson series if you're going to get into this though.
This will definitely be a repeat offender for our families play list.
All of the characters have an appeal about them. Jason is fantastic and Hera/Juno wiping his memory was the epic attention getter for this book. I was instantly hooked and had to know more about him. Piper is a walking contradiction trying so hard to not be what she inevitably is. Leo, while a third wheel at times is integral for this books success. They are all my favorites!!
Joshua Swanson is a wonderful reader. His inflection into the character voices help us to see new sides of the characters in the story.
Wow. I am probably not going to finish this book. It's like Riordan took his notes from "The Lightning Thief" and the rest of the first series and used them to make a second series with Romans. Add to it an inferior narrator who gives many of his voices inflections like he was playing in a bad parody of a movie set in a barrio in the U.S. and you have utter tripe.
At least the similarities in the Kane Chronicles were just enough that someone who was a fan of the first series would feel like they were a familiar friend. Here, they seem to replace any creativity. Percy Jackson can't fly? Well Jason has to fly so that is totally different. There is a traitor in Aphrodite's cabin? Yep. Someone is having dreams and is being secretive about them? Yup. The big threat is from the Gods' family tree? You betcha!
I returned the second book in the series because this one is so bad. This is from someone who has loved Edgar Rice Burroughs for years. He had only one plot, but made it work more often than not. Boy gets in an unusual situation. Boy meets girl. Boy loses girl to a bad guy. Boy finds and rescues girl. Rinse and repeat with all kinds of pulp aplomb.
Joshua Swanson helps bring the book to life. Being able to hear the different voices characters was nice
Adventure here we come.
This book is really good it's like being able to continue the percie Jackson books. Couldnt stop listening to this book. Liked Jessie Bernstein a little better being the narator but like any book you get use to the new guy. This one has Joshua Swanson narrating.
Love listening to audio books at work or on the road.
A canteen in the desert. Because when you just read percy you need more
Swanson was amazing, bring in a plethora of good voice.
A great book
Figuring out Jason was Roman and not Greek
No we listen to it in the car on the way to and from school
It was a transition to get use to the new narrator from the 1st series. Now on book 2 and I love him.
Give me more Percy Jackson stories...PLEASE and THANK YOU. B-)
Yes I would recommend this book and the new Demigods advantures.I enjoyed the first 5 books and am glad to see more books of the Percy Jacksons advantures.
The new demigods, Leo is funny in a good way.
Its all about Leos' past story. That was a touching part for me.
Looking forward to the next 4 books.
the book is just as good as any other book in my library.
