The second thrilling installment in Richelle Mead's Vampire Academy spinoff series.
Tough, brainy alchemist Sydney Sage and doe-eyed Moroi princess Jill Dragomir are in hiding at a human boarding school in the sunny, glamorous world of Palm Springs, California. The students - children of the wealthy and powerful - carry on with their lives in blissful ignorance, while Sydney, Jill, Eddie, and Adrian must do everything in their power to keep their secret safe. But with forbidden romances, unexpected spirit bonds, and the threat of Strigoi moving ever closer, hiding the truth is harder than anyone thought.
Populated with new faces as well as familiar ones, Richelle Mead's breathtaking Bloodlines series explores all the friendship, romance, battles, and betrayals that made the number-one New York Times best-selling Vampire Academy series so addictive. In this second book, the drama is hotter, the romances are steamier, and the stakes are even higher.

I love this series even better than the original VA series. I loved the vampire academy series, but Adrian stole my heart in that series, and I love seeing more of him in this unique story. Emily does a beautiful job narrating. In reading the print, I can definitely see Sidney having Emily's tones, inflections, and voice. This series has been a wonderful set to have in my collection.
The story kept me on my toes trying to solve pieces of the puzzle. But I wish the main character had a voice of her own. Often I thought I was listening to Rose Hathaway one of the main character's in Vampire Academy.
I'm a wife a mom and love to read.
This book the sequel to Bloodlines, was just okay for me, though I gave it 3 stars, it's more of 2,5 stars book. It dragged in parts, nothing really happening, but Sydney and Adrian have some really cute scenes together which makes this book tolerable.
Bloodlines is finally starting to kick off towards the end of this one, all her books are great her world building and characters are so flushed out and real. Can't wait to start the next in the series
Fun story. I am familiar with this series and read it when it was originally released. Unfortunately the narration is distracting. The voices she chooses for some of the characters make me dislike them. They either sound whiney, apathetic, or aggressive.
loved it!!!!!! wish vampire academy had more book, would love to know what rose is up to. but I'm very happy with this spin off.
