Publisher's summary

Sydney Sage is an alchemist, one of a group of humans who dabble in magic and serve to bridge the worlds of humans and vampires. They protect vampire secrets - and human lives.

In the Indigo Spell, Sydney was torn between the alchemist way of life and what her heart and gut were telling her to do. And in one breathtaking moment that Richelle Mead fans will never forget, she made a decision that shocked even her....

But the struggle isn't over for Sydney. As she navigates the aftermath of her life-changing decision, she still finds herself pulled in too many directions at once. Her sister Zoe has arrived, and while Sydney longs to grow closer to her, there's still so much she must keep secret. Working with Marcus has changed the way she views the Alchemists, and Sydney must tread a careful path as she harnesses her profound magical ability to undermine the way of life she was raised to defend. Consumed by passion and vengeance, Sydney struggles to keep her secret life under wraps as the threat of exposure - and re-education - looms larger than ever.

Pulses will race throughout this thrilling fourth installment in the New York Times best-selling Bloodlines series, where no secret is safe.

Story Great... Narration.... ehhh

Would you consider the audio edition of The Fiery Heart to be better than the print version?

Any additional comments?

The story was great. It finally had the pick up that it needed. I can't wait for the next book to come out!!
Now to my issue. Emily has done a GREAT job with the narration. I've visualized the characters in my head and have attached her voice to those characters. Then, because the book is also in Adrian's POV, they added a male narrator. Adrian now doesn't have an accent and it's just thrown off who I'd come to associate the voice with. I just didn't think that was a good move, 4 books into the series. Emily could've continued his voice for his POV. Just my opinion.

Loved it!

Seeing the story from both points of view, added a new element to this story. I did however miss that Adrian suddenly doesn't have any sort of an accent. I assume because the guy who narrated Adrian's part couldn't match the accent of Sydney's narrator.
That was the only drawback of the story. I felt like the in with something I knew was coming, but still has managed to be somewhat surprised. I thought this was a fantastic book!

The Fiery Heart Review

Any additional comments?

I really enjoyed this book but it wasn't a 'favorite' like the others of this series. Thats because there wasn't any real action in this book, until the last 15 min. And even the big showdown at the end you knew was coming from the first chapter. There were absolutely no surprises in this book. However, I cannot wait for the next installment. I need to see how Sydney gets herself out of this one.

Please leave Adrian ALONE!

The books was great however Adrian's voice change was horrible! He sounds nothing like he did in other books and it a very poor change.

Now Adrian sounds like Eddy

What did you love best about The Fiery Heart?

The stories are always fun.

How could the performance have been better?

Before when Sydney played Adrian he had a British accent, now he sounds like Eddy. Also the new guy who plays Adrian's point of view does not come off as suave or witty. Wish audible would do a re-read with Emily Shaffer doing Adrian again.

Any additional comments?

Disappointed.

Fun to listen to

This series is so good. It's well written and paced. The story is engaging from the beginning and kept me interested until the end. The voice actors did a great job with all the different voices and accents. The only thing I didn't like was that in the previous books, Adrian's voice was British and then in this book he was suddenly American. It was a little confusing for the first while. I am glad we got to see Adrian's point of view in this book though. And it ended on a cliffhanger so now I want more!

I loved the addition of Alden ford. It was great to Adrian's voice as well as Sydney's.

Great story and so moved by 💘!

the love between Adrian and Sydney is so moving and profound that make my heart ache... I like both performers, contrary to some reviews, and liked the no-accent voices
