Even though this is a kid's book. I really enjoyed the book, so much so that I bought the second book in the series. These are good for a light listen, with a bit of mystery and the fairy tales that we all grew up with mixed into a cute story. Worth the credit or money to me.
The characters and the story were fun.
The sisters Grimm didn't know that their grandmother was a live and that the fairy tale characters were real.
Love Elvis; I'm a dog lover, but pretty much I like all the characters.
No, not really. It's just a cute story.
Can't wait to listen the other books. I should have get the second book of this series instead of wasting my credit on Fifty Shades of Grey, lol.
Captivating, Suspenseful, Funny
Daphne, because she is just a ball of joy.
I enjoyed it immensely
I'm a fan of fairy tales --- whether the Disney 'happily ever after' versions or the more gruesome classics of the brothers Grimm. From Hans Christian Anderson & Lewis Carroll to Colladi & Perrault, I love them all.
If you're a fan of fairy tales, too, this might be worth a listen. The story was cute --- a light, fun romp --- in which you see some of your favorite fairy-tale characters in a new light.
The narration is excellent. This is the first book I've listened to narrated by L. J. Ganser; He does a marvelous job. The accents and different voices he uses bring the characters to life and will hold the interest of kids as well as adults.
I'd definitely pack this on a road trip to pass the time and occupy the little ones. They will have fun figuring out who the towns people really are. The story isn't too complex that it would be hard for them to follow and none of the characters are too scary.
I'll definitely pick up more books in the series to spend more time with the characters/ Grimm Family, if nothing else.
Well Im about to be eight but still this is a good book and part of a great series. Get it for your daughters!
I loved Daphne. She was always ready to get into every situation.
I grew up with books....not television.
Using a modern take on old fairy tales/nursery rhymes, Mr. Buckley creates a fantastic world with interesting characters and sends them on their way into an engrossing story. From beginning to end, this book was marvelously entertaining! Even if you are not a fan of Fairy Tales, the characters are well developed and can easily stand on their own.
It's a light, comforting, and enjoyable tale that you can listen to and enjoy with the whole family.
This book is fun from start to finish. This is the first book in the series and I look forward to reading/listening to more. The characters are fun and the story is fast paced.
Say something about yourself!
I admit, I'm caught up in the new TV servies Once Upon a Time and perhaps that was what first intreguied me about this book series, and rightfully so! I can't help but enjoy the parallels between the fairy tale characters and their real world facade (similar to the TV show I mentioned). The girls are endearing and the characters are interesting and amusing. The narrator does a wonderful job performing the voices and carrying the story. I wish I had a little one to enjoy this series with me! It is a nice, light read.
I would absolutely recommend this book to anyone who listens with their kids. My kids really loved how the fairy tale stories and characters are woven into the story. I will be downloading more from the series.
I am an adult but bought this book because it looked interesting. It is set in our present day and follows two sisters who are the decendants of the Brothers Grimm. They are thrown in the middle of a mystery involving fairy tale characters. It was an easy listen and helped pass the time while I did my cleaning. Although this is really for kids, it can be enjoyed by adults too. There are some unresolved questions at the end of the story so I am thinking that this book may have a sequel.
