Publisher's summary

In Allison Sekemoto's world, there is one rule left: Blood calls to blood.

She has done the unthinkable: died so that he might continue to live. Cast out of Eden and separated from the boy she dared to love, Allie will follow the call of blood to save her creator, Kanin, from the psychotic vampire Sarren. But when the trail leads to Allie's birthplace in New Covington, what Allie finds there will change the world forever - and possibly end human and vampire existence.

There's a new plague on the rise, a strain of the Red Lung virus that wiped out most of humanity generations ago - and this strain is deadly to humans and vampires alike. The only hope for a cure lies in the secrets Kanin carries, if Allie can get to him in time.

Allison thought that immortality was forever. But now, with eternity itself hanging in the balance, the lines between human and monster will blur even further, and Allie must face another choice she could never have imagined having to make.

Buckle Up...it's an insane ride!

This book was all over the place in a good way. My heart is still racing from the last half hour.

Warnings:
1) Cliffhanger ending, so if you need closure, wait for the next book.
2) Very violent at times and downright disturbing at others...in case that bothers you.

The heroine's inner monologues get a little tiresome and the humanity vs. monster battle isn't always consistent. However, she is easy to cheer for and swings a mean blade. Her strength, self-confidence and attitude all spike in this book. Supporting characters are very well-developed...love them, hate them, cry for them, want to slap them, and so on.

The Eternity Cure is full of substance, well-written and well-executed. I was fully engrossed in the story and found it hard to stop listening...exactly what I seek when choosing an audiobook.

Great Narration

Would you listen to The Eternity Cure again? Why?

Yes, I would. I am enjoying this series so far. I have enjoyed pretty much everything Julie Kagawa writes. This follow-up to The Immortal Rules wasn't as strong as the first book, but the ending packed a powerful punch and I'm looking forward to the next instalment.

Would you recommend The Eternity Cure to your friends? Why or why not?

Yes. I would recommend The Eternity Cure (and the Blood of Eden series) to people who enjoy paranormal or dystopian/post-apocalyptic stories. It's a vampire story with a post-apocalyptic twist, and a nice change of pace from typical YA vampire books.

What about Therese Plummer’s performance did you like?

Therese Plummer does a great job, once again. She narrates as if she's telling her own story, really bringing it to life through the eyes of Allison.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Near the end, when Zeke relays his message to Allie on the laptop. Very moving.

Any additional comments?

I didn't enjoy The Eternity Cure as much as I enjoyed The Immortal Rules, but I'm still looking forward to the next book. The ending made up for the two or three occasions when I thought the story line was moving a bit slowly. I also like that the author left us with a cliffhanger ending that, while leaving us wondering what will happen next, isn't so abrupt as to completely frustrate the readers (I'm talking to you, Kresley Cole!).

HOLY COW!!!!

Any additional comments?

You might as well dub the book as 'Rollercoaster Ride Extremus Maximus.'

Ms. Kagawa, you squeezed my little bookworm heart like a sponge and left it out to dry on a bloody sink. But I must be a masochist, because I love you. You are amazeballs. I'm surprised to admit these series are a total contender for my all-time favorite, The 5th Wave.

The characters and their development are amazingly well written. These are the type of books that not only do you enjoy, but they leave you with a lasting impression, and you are saddened to part ways with the characters once you finish their stories. Another diamond in the rough.

If you are into romance stories, go ahead and dive in. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Just when you think you know...

What did you love best about The Eternity Cure?

The twist and turns, just when you think you know what is going to happen it goes in another direction. Heart pounding none stop action. Heart wrenching edge of your seat.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Can't pick just one, they all have qualities I love! From Zeke's caring, to Allison kick but take no prisoners attitude, to Kane's determination, to Jackal's snarky wit.

What does Therese Plummer bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Therese is one of a few that can really bring a book to life.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I laughed, I cried, I wanted to beg!

Any additional comments?

I can't wait for the next book in this series to see just what will happens! This book has so many emotions and heart stopping pounding action hang by the edge of your seat scenes, just when you think they are gone HERE they come again!

Descriptions do not do this series justice!

Right now, I am waiting for the third book in this series due out next month, (April 15th), and debating whether or not to listen right away, or wait a while and then start the series from the beginning. Hmmmmm. Decisions, decisions.

I don't think I can wait. The first two were that good.

I really loved the phenomenal performance by Therese Plummer. She really brought this series to life. I wish she read more of my favorite books. She's perfection.

Book 2 done in 4 days!!! Yes 4!

What did you like best about this story?

Story was awesome. Couldn't put it down. Read the whole thing in 4 days. Talking about addictive. Not giving away the ending but OMG what an ending!!!! I really really hope this is the next book series to skyrocket into fame because it's definitely as good as any other. Wooohooo book three here I come!

What about Therese Plummer’s performance did you like?

A huge fan of audiobooks and have heard many performers but I would have to say Therese Plummer is my absolute favorite. The different voices are perfect to picture the different characters. The way she tells the story you just really imagine someone is telling you the story that really lived through the experience. Her voice even trembles when she's sad/upset. Not only is she storytelling but she's acting the part and making you believe every moment of it. She rocks!

This book is a perfect mix of romance and dark fantasy. The narrator is perfect too, she puts so much emotion into her voice and I love it.

Overall this story is...slightly below average.

You have a story about vampires taking over the world after a plague wipes out a billions. Yet they don't do anything at all to 'improve' the situation. They just force humans to live off the scraps of the world that came before. Everything is now in a slow decline. Nothing new is invented and vampires don't want humans to read and educate the next generation, which will all but guarantee the fall of man.

As for the vampires themselves, they are supposed to be powerful, but they aren't AT ALL. They seem to get captured and beaten down very quickly. They have no real advantage that would justify their position at the top since one human with a crossbow can take out a Master vampire. SMH. They are slow, and can be easily damaged. A group of humans with wood and guns can bring dow the strongest of them with minimal loss and they have no gifts outside of healing a minimal strength, slightly increased eye sight in the night, nearly unnoticable increase in their 5 senses and an increase their ability to hold their breath. But hit one with a steel bat and they go down just like everyone else.

When you read a book about vampires, one of the things you look for is POWER increase and how the author will put it to use. There is next to none in this story, so its just a story about a girl walking around falling for a boy. And at that point, you have to ask... WHO CARES?!!!

Now that the boy toy is gone or turned, what does it matter? It does not.

I realize I don't sooooo Im going to stop here. I got other stories that need my attention. I'm going to get my credit back.
