Publisher's summary

Don't miss book three in the #1 New York Times best-selling Maze Runner series, soon to be a major motion picture starring Dylan O'Brien!

WICKED has taken everything from Thomas: his life, his memories, and now his only friends — the Gladers. But it's finally over. The trials are complete, after one final test.

What WICKED doesn't know is that Thomas remembers far more than they think. And it's enough to prove that he can't believe a word of what they say.

Thomas beat the Maze. He survived the Scorch. He'll risk anything to save his friends. But the truth might be what ends it all.

The time for lies is over.

The first two books, The Maze Runner and The Scorch Trials, are also #1 worldwide blockbuster movies featuring the star of MTV's Teen Wolf, Dylan O'Brien; Kaya Scodelario; Aml Ameen; Will Poulter; and Thomas Brodie-Sangster!

Also look for The Fever Code, the much-buzzed-about series conclusion that finally reveals the story of how the maze was built, and James Dashner's other best-selling series, the Mortality Doctrine: The Eye of Minds, The Rule of Thoughts, and The Game of Lives.

Praise for James Dashner and the Maze Runner series:

Disappointed

I gave it three stars because I like the first two books. Wow. This book was a snore. I really liked the first two books but this one lost me. By the end I had lost all investment in the characters. He could have killed them all off and I would not have cared.

This book sucks

Would you try another book from James Dashner and/or Mark Deakins?

No. I would have after The Maze Runner but not now. The cracks in this great story formed in The Scorch Trials which I still liked but this book just fell apart. With nothing to add to anything other than "woah, look how crazy this thing is!"

What was most disappointing about James Dashner’s story?

Look, I'm not the target audience on this one. I get it. But a story being good or bad is really independent of that. It felt as though James had no other ideas for the second two books other than bigger, badder, more more more than the book previous. You liked grievers? How about sword pus monsters? Oh, you liked that? How about grievers again? No, James. No more. No more insanity. There were so many things in this book that didn't make any since I was convinced they were in a simulation as the end approached. But no, it was all real... and stupid.

What about Mark Deakins’s performance did you like?

It was fine.

Did The Death Cure inspire you to do anything?

It inspired me to stop recommending The Maze Runner to people.

Any additional comments?

Ug, no.

Keeps you guessing till the very end!

Any additional comments?

Everytime I thought I had the series figured out, another twist came in. Such an exciting plot with well developed characters. The imagery was amazing making me able to clearly picture every detail. Great series!

Cure the Flare

Would you listen to The Death Cure again? Why?

Yes, if there is a fourth book.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Death Cure?

It was action packed, but the second book was better for me.

Which scene was your favorite?

When we find out who has the flare and who is immune.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I enjoyed the action, and fast pace

Good ending to a great series!

What made the experience of listening to The Death Cure the most enjoyable?

This ends the series fairly well. Not unrealistically sappy/happy, nor depressing mad/sad. Strong ending to a great series!

Who was your favorite character and why?

I LOVE Thomas! He is a really good person, without all the angst that seems to be prevalent in teen dystopian series.

another great story

What a great end to the trilogy. This is not a stand alone story. You need to listen to the other two for it to make sense

Amazing

This book was more on edge for me and so perfectly well wrote. So far I have absolutely loved all three books and I thank you so much for creating them.

I'm sad it is over...

It seems I'm always disappointed by a trilogy's last book, but I really enjoyed Death Cure. I've read reviews that seemed to think the book was "random" or that too much was going on, but I think it all ties together nicely in the end. This might be my least favorite of the three books, but I think that is par for the course in trilogies. But even being my least favorite of the three...it was a great read and one I'd definitely recommend.
