Chris Marshall met the girl he was going to kill on a warm Oxford night in early June...He loved her the moment he first set eyes on her – beautiful, secretive Jenny who rushed headlong into his life. Fate brought her to him, and fate would mercilessly dome between them to drive their innocent affair down a dark road of danger and betrayal. And make Chris discover that truth and trust are not the simple ideals he once believed.

"Bear in mind this is a short story for teenagers"
This is a bit like the audio equivalent of watching a play on TV rather than a Hollywood blockbuster on the big screen. A charming little love story between a hippy living in a squat and an innocent young man working with a devious character who has someone out to get him. They get together, then lose contact and then keep missing each other on the streets of Oxford, while there is a thriller running in parallel. A bit of light relief that's beautifully written although some of the narrator's accents are as suspect as some of the characters.
"Very sad and sorry tale"
This was a sad and sorry tale of manipulation, loss of innocence and very bad timing! Not quite what I was expecting from this author at all. I did not enjoy the narrators voice, but in retrospect it actually fit very well with the story and the discomfort it engendered.
If you are looking for something positive, give this a miss.
