This story is out of this world. I couldn’t stop listening and wanted more when it was over. The authors interview at the end is equally brilliant. This will sit with me for quite some time.

Amazing
I’m so glad to have found this book. It is a beautiful way to visit a harsh subject. When my children are a bit older (now only 6 & 7) I will use this book as a way to begin the conversation.

Beautifully Shocking, Sad, and Insightful
I remember coming across this book a few times when I was a child in my school libraries but never bothering with it, I'm glad I gave it a chance as an adult. The author does a fantastic job of capturing such a bleak world during such an awful time through the innocence of a child's eyes, as does the narrator. And the ending...just so much more effective in audio book form than in the movie or even just reading the book. Overall, 10/10
