Though he's only 13, Theodore Boone has spent more time in the courtroom than almost anywhere else, and there's always a new adventure waiting. After being falsely accused of vandalism and theft, Theo is happy to finally be out of the hot seat, once more dispensing legal advice to friends and community members, when an exciting new case demands his urgent attention.

My 9 year old loves this series. No sexual undertones or needs for parental worry. I can listen to it with her and find it enjoyable also. The dialogue about legal process is educating and appropriately written for children to understand. I recommend this series.
Artist & Journeyman Composter
Theo Boone is a 13 year old kid of two lawyers who wants also to be a lawyer. He is disciplined, a good friend, smart, in pretty good communication with his parents who usually share their feelings and reasons with him, who often listen to his side of issues - but not always, so he has additionally learned discretion. As an early teen, he is learning his own code of ethics. In "Activist", Grisham nicely prepares the stage, and does not suddenly create a monster out of Theo, but gets his protagonist involved through very personal events: a friend's plight, and a painful incident involving his beloved mutt of mixed parentage, Judge. The story is very well developed, allowing Theo to develop his own viewpoint, through his exposure and experiences, and through talks with his renegade uncle, and friends. You can see his growing process, and because of this, and his innate
values of friendship, loyalty, and doing his own research, this book was my favorite. However, I still recommend beginning at the beginning; it's much more rich.
I listen to audio books while working.
We've enjoyed the other Boone books. but this one is really a teaching book for kids. and Grisham failed to move the story along as he went. So for two adults, it dragged to the pint where we finally gave up.
On a scale of 1-10, it is a 7.
When Theodore realizes his mother's support and that his father represents the other side of the issue. And when Judge got hurt, I cried.
I don't, he does not have enough differences in his tone for me to always determine who is speaking. He is not a good reader for that reason. He is a good narrator, but not when it comes to speaking in different voices.
When we did not know whether Judge would live or die and Theodore's insistence on staying all night with him.
I enjoy the series and listened all the time. The wonderful part about audiobooks is that i can clean the house, do dishes, was clothes and drive to work and finish the book. I love the flexibility of audiobooks.
A wonderful insight for those who wish to simply sit back and allow your legislatures work on your behalf. Know what, when and how your local government works, who they are and where the money goes. Or you too may loose the "family farm"!
Practical arguments regarding how things are viewed by seemingly intelligent people. The issue is, and always will be that for most, your decisions are made EMOTIONALLY. And your heart will always want and see what it wants....
I don't think that at this juncture, I could listen to Theodore Boone read by ANYONE ELSE... WONDERFUL as always!
When the judge informed the litigants of the consequences and severity of perjury on the stand.
A must read, hear and hopefully see....
Old, tired member of the sandwich generation. Waiting to just get to heaven!!
These books are by John Grisham and really not much more needs to be said. I love Theo and his care for others. Uncle Ike is just an all around great fellow. Theo's parents are cool and is Judge. These are a quick listen, involved, books. I truly wish there were more in the series.
This is redundant but my review is the same for all four of the series Theodore Boone books.
I enjoyed this book immensely. Even though it is a children's book, it had the right amount of suspense, intrigue, and mystery to keep an adult interested. John Grisham is great as usual!!!!
