Publisher's summary

From the New York Times and USA Today best-selling author of the adult thriller Wired, Stranded is the third book in The Prometheus Project, a critically acclaimed science fiction series for kids.

A fantastic alien city buried deep underground. What wonders - and what dangers - is it hiding?

Ryan and Regan Resnick are the two youngest members of the Prometheus Project, a top secret team exploring a vast, abandoned alien city. But when they journey through a portal to a primitive alien planet, what begins as an ordinary day will quickly become a nonstop fight for their lives.

Soon they are stranded on the distant planet, surrounded by vicious predators and in the path of a raging river of lava. But surviving on the deadly planet might be the easy part. Because if they can get back to Earth, they will have to face a ruthless adversary who controls a mysterious alien device. A device that is the most powerful, dangerous, and unstoppable weapon the world has ever known.

Great story wish there were more in the series

This is a really good story. It is geared towards younger audience but as an adult I enjoyed it. Listening to the whole series with my kids and they really enjoyed it as well.

We were wishing and wanting more stories is the series.

My daughter and I both like this series

One major physics problem though. A major prop in the story is a rubiks cube sized artifact which alters gravity. The author confuses weight with mass. The cube supposedly has a mass of several tons but can alter gravity so that it is practically weightless. One of the characters pops it in their pocket and walks off with it. Its mass and resultant inertia would make that impossible. Except at relativistic speeds mass cannot be altered.

Now and then we receive a remarkable teaching tool

Children are indeed our future., our now., we owe children our knowledge because we were given knowledge by our elders also. This book is not just for them though, it is for us also we lleaen just how family dynamics are meant to be.

Meh

It's a good read for the target audience, though not always believeable. YA sci-fi is often better than this in my opinion. This is the weakest book of the trilogy.
