Napoli gives a revealing depiction of what happened to Italians in WWII.A subject not often written about in popular fiction. Eye opening and informative, she wraps your heart around the characters and their plight.
Simultaneously sad and inspiring. Ended too soon. Intensity and violence might make it difficult for younger or more squeamish readers.
The book is very slow and the performance lacks vitality.
I would be reluctant to read another of the author's books.
I would be unlikely to seek out another one of Christian Rummel's performances.
