Return to the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants... 10 years later

From number-one New York Times best-selling author Ann Brashares comes the welcome return of the characters whose friendship became a touchstone for a generation. Now Tibby, Lena, Carmen, and Bridget have grown up, starting their lives on their own. And though the jeans they shared are long gone, the sisterhood is everlasting.

Despite having jobs and men that they love, each knows that something is missing: the closeness that once sustained them. Carmen is a successful actress in New York, engaged to be married, but misses her friends. Lena finds solace in her art, teaching in Rhode Island, but still thinks of Kostos and the road she didn’t take. Bridget lives with her longtime boyfriend, Eric, in San Francisco, and though a part of her wants to settle down, a bigger part can’t seem to shed her old restlessness.

Then Tibby reaches out to bridge the distance, sending the others plane tickets for a reunion that they all breathlessly await. And indeed, it will change their lives forever - but in ways that none of them could ever have expected.

As moving and life-changing as an encounter with long-lost best friends, Sisterhood Everlasting is a powerful story about growing up, losing your way, and finding the courage to create a new one.

Spend some more time with the Sisterhood.

The Sisterhood Lives on Forever in Our Hearts.

This was a very sweet story of a friendship that never ends... Or disappoints for that matter. The story is a bit slow in the middle but it provides necessary insight into the lives of four friends who have forgotten who they really are along the journey of their adult lives.

From Tragic to Togetherness

When i started this book, i was excited and then the story was so drastically different than the previous 4, that i really didnt like it. I was frustrated with the characters and how much they had changed and grown apart. About half way through the plot began to come together and I started to enjoy the story again. I loved the last half and was pleased with how it ended. I could read on about these women’s lives and them growing up together. What a fantastic journey and how I wish I had a group of friends that I had grown up with.

A disappointing ending to a generally meh story

The whole series has something to be desired but I was hoping this final book would wrap up the loose ends and end in characters finally being good to themselves. However, with mental health issues that make it impossible for characters to hold a job that are left untreated, having a disease be the focus of the story that the author obviously didn't research at all, a birth control method that neither the character so obviously the author didn't actually understand and the continued notion that cheating in a relationship is actually okay if it's true love the story fell very flat and was hard to get through at times. Save yourself the time and credit, read the summary on wiki and choose a different book to invest in.

my heart hurts

This is not the happy go lucky ending I was expecting for the sisterhood. Prepare yourself for sadness. It was nonetheless a worthwhile experience. This novel cuts straight to the hardship of real life and threw me into a ride I was not expecting. Listening to the story was so much like experiencing it with the girls. Art should disturb the comfortable and comfort the disturbed - mission accomplished.

Good listen but mixed feelings

Its hard to review this book without giving anything away so I apologize before hand if you want to be totally surprised don't read my review.

By the end of this book my feelings have changed about 20x regarding how I felt about it. I'm going to say its worth the listen/read especially if your a fan of all the other Sisterhood books. But through out almost the entire book I was screaming in my head at how meek these characters were. I know they just had a shocking event happened but not 1 of them asked questions???? I know they were scared of the answers but I would STILL be asking questions. But then again we wouldn't have much of a story if they had. For 30 years old these characters haven't emotionally matured since their early 20s. By the end of the book I felt they had but it seemed that at least maybe 1 one of them should have more sense by 30 then they did (maybe Tibby was only one).

So many feelings

Having loved these girls since book 1 I was shocked and angry in the beginning chapters! How could these be the same girls I had loved?!? Yet as she always has the author took me on an emotional roller coaster to end in a peaceful place in Pennsylvania...great listen!

Everlasting

Wow. This was the most beautiful end to a book series I have read since Anne of Green Gables. Well, done Brashares. You brought depth to an already full and fun story. Emotional ride, but so is life. Loved it.

A beautiful ending

This is a beautiful ending to the sisterhood. As I read a spoiler by accident I knew that there was a tragedy. The book made me feel so deeply. These characters have ment so much to me since I picked up the first book as a young teen. It’s been a while since I read the finale pants book. I forgot how beautifully and descriptively Ann’s writing is. She really makes you feel the characters feelings. I found my self tearing up in the care and wanting to scream at the characters to stop being so dumb. The amazing thing about the way Ann wrote this story is the transformation you see in these women from beginning to end. Which we saw in every book but this is coming into adulthood and realizing parts of themselves they lost. Also it ended exactly the way I would have hoped. Love this story if you love the pants series definitely listen but go in with an open mind knowing that the tragedy in the beginning will lead to happiness in the end.
