"You can't touch me," I whisper. I'm lying, is what I don't tell him. He can touch me, is what I'll never tell him. But things happen when people touch me. Strange things. Bad things.

No one knows why Juliette's touch is fatal, but The Reestablishment has plans for her. Plans to use her as a weapon.

But Juliette has plans of her own. After a lifetime without freedom, she's finally discovering a strength to fight back for the very first time - and to find a future with the one boy she thought she'd lost forever.

Very enjoyable!!

I loved the story so much..... But....... Occasionally the narrator's voice would get shrill and hurt my ears...... Other than that it was perfect! Good work! :)

Interesting writing style, AMAZING PERFORMANCE !!

What did you love best about Shatter Me?

The performance of the person reading. It would not have held near the interest in book form. And such an interesting use of descriptors. Always in the extreme and many times at opposite ends of the spectrum. I have never read anything like this. Very unusual ! The story is futuristic and about a time when the earth is more barren. But hope is found. The story is about how it is found and one young girl in particular. This is not the kind of thing I usually read but I loved this story. It had heart and soul and caring and hope for a better world.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Juliette because she was so resillient.

What about Kate Simses’s performance did you like?

She read with such feeling and expression, reguardless of which character she was portraying. I seldom comment on performance unless the accent is so strong I have difficulty understanding. But to have just read this book I dont think I would have enjoyed it half as much. She made it come alive. It was real. Ahe was AMAZING!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, but obviously could not.

Any additional comments?

As different as it is from what I usually read (mysteries) I would recommend taking a chance on this. The very interesting use of words in the writing and the extremely well performed reading will be worth your time.

Excellent series!

I really enjoyed this series! It's not exactly like The Hunger Games and Divergent, but if you like those series I think you will like this. I loved the character development through the whole series. The characters actually grew and changed and it impacted all aspects of the story. The author also has a poetic voice and rhythm with the main character. Her descriptions are unique and chalk full of imagery! I only gave the story 4 stars because I really hope there's a 4th book! :)

YA

Good storyline. Easy to follow. Could do without the repeated sentences. Narrator has a pleasant voice.

Like the story, can’t handle the reader

I really enjoy the plot of the story, but I really struggle to listen to the reader. I can typically adjust to a new audiobook after several chapters. But 20 chapters in and her voice still bugs me

Great book, audio needs work

Whatever the scratching noise is, is extremely annoying. And also Juliette sounds like she is 12. Otherwise the book itself was fantastic.

Turns into what seems to be very X-men-ish

I really enjoyed the performance of the story. For some reason the audible version had a bunch of sentences not in the copy of my written book. Not sure if my book is out of date or what. Regardless narrator very good. And you even get the crossing out sounds.

The story is decent. It’s a post apocalyptic world with factions and rebels, so very much like every other post apocalyptic story. Story starts off a little slow and then gets better. But then towards the end it basically turns into X-men and I feel like I just read a re-telling of Rogue’s story. I’ll probably give the second book in the series a shot, though.
