Inside you'll listen to:

  • A cinematic tutorial on why the best friend (Simon) always loses out to the bad boy (Jace)
  • The benefits (no, really!) of incest...at least in literature
  • What we can read between the lines of Alec and Magnus’ European vacation
  • The importance of friendship, art, humor, and rebellion

And more, from the virtues of Downworlders to the naughty side of Shadowhunting. Number-one New York Times best-selling author Cassandra Clare created the Mortal Instruments in 2004 with City of Bones (Simon & Schuster, 2007). Since then, the series has grown to five books, with a sixth due in 2014, and been joined by two spinoff trilogies and an upcoming film starring Jamie Campbell Power and Lily Collins.

Featuring stories by Holly Black, Kendare Blake, Gwenda Bond, Sarah Rees Brennan, Rachel Caine, Sarah Cross, Kami Garcia, Michelle Hodkin, Kelly Link, Kate Milford, Diana Peterfreund, Sara Ryan, Scott Tracey, and Robin Wasserman.

That you can immediately hit play and re-enter a beloved new world, or love story, or era from history is a gift to the devoted listener. But how to pick just 100 of these unique and immersive listening journeys? We defined a series as having a minimum of three books, and—after some debate—we decided the titles had to be anchored in fiction. From YA to horror to historical fiction, from fresh voices to seminal tales, hours of discovery await.

As someone Sephardic Moroccan Jewish, Cherokee and Irish mostly...I loved hearing how the elements came together.
.
being orthodox Jewish (modox is the closest to my observance), I see us as the light side and visible side of the bound in service to HaShem G-D with our mitzvot like the shadowhunters are the invisible fighting the dark and bound to HaShem G-D with the laws.
.
it's wonderful to hear how it came to be.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I recommend this book to fans of, and those who are interested in an analysis of Cassandra Clare's Mortal Instruments series.

What about the narrators’s performance did you like?

The narrators did a great job of getting the point of view of the authors across to the reader. I also enjoyed the fact that there were multiple narrators for this book.

Any additional comments?

The book is sold at a good price and worth it. I bought this to complete my Cassandra Clare collection. I don't usually enjoy analyses of books but this was an enjoyable insight into the shadowhunter and downworlder stories.

A great analysis
