Shadow of the Wolf | [Tim Hall]

Shadow of the Wolf

The first book of the trilogy, Shadow of the Wolf, is set in Sherwood Forest in medieval England. In it, Tim Hall presents a Robin Hood more heroic and horrific than ever before: a 14-year-old blind, ruthless assassin and elemental creature of the forest, hell-bent on a mission to avenge his father's death and the brutal abduction of his soul mate, Marian. It is a breathtakingly original - and utterly compelling - retelling of the Robin Hood legend.

Would you listen to Shadow of the Wolf again? Why?

I have already listened to this audio book twice!

What did you like best about this story?

Unpredictable... although this story has been told many times, I've never read it from this angle.

What disappointed you about Shadow of the Wolf?

While detailed and descriptive not much happens , its all very woe is I, self pity and stupid frustrating decisions.

Would you ever listen to anything by Tim Hall again?

If he wrote a book which had better pace Id have a Listen. I just couldn't finish this slow, tedious, book. Imagine a teenage girl shouting no one understands me and stamping her foot while every adult rolls their eyes and sighs. that feeling you get when you sigh at that point is how I felt for the majority of this book. that's what this book is.

What aspect of Joe Jameson’s performance might you have changed?

Actually the Narrator was good, his script was the issue

You didn’t love this book--but did it have any redeeming qualities?

the one bit where ( spoiler alert) he was in the keep learning how to fight that was entertaining. then he (sigh) runs off after a girl throwing away his life of four years and abandoning his mates.

    Any additional comments?

Unless you have a gushing fountain of emotion and pity don't listen , its not worth the frustration.
