Publisher's summary

"I can feel every Shifter's emotions except Daniel's? The only one whose heart I long to know."

Hayden was born a werewolf, a Dark Guardian. But her ability to sense the feelings of fellow werewolves has made her life unbearable. She runs away, only to be tracked by charming, mysterious Daniel, a newcomer to the pack and the one Shifter immune to her powers. As she reluctantly follows him home, Hayden finds herself falling dangerously in love....

But even as her feelings for Daniel deepen, Hayden begins to wonder if he is who he claims to be. Where did he come from and why has no one ever seen him transform? When they stumble upon the body of a Shifter still in wolf form, her worries grow. Someone is killing her kind. Is her handsome tracker really a hunter? And is Hayden now his prey?

Light Read/Good Narration

This story like the rest of the series had more potential than was delivered and was superficial and predictable although not as predictable as the first 3 books. I thought it was good as long as your expectations aren't too high. It was entertaining. The beginning was weird since one of it's main characters had never been mentioned before and neither had the villain but it get better as it went on. The characters were likable and it was nice to see a little more of the main characters in the previous books. Hawthorne did do a better job with the main characters for this book than she did in the previous books. The same problem as with the previous books was that there still wasn't enough background either in the main characters and the history of the shifters and the new villain. It was still annoying that "humans" were referred to as "statics" although it wasn't as frequent as in the first two books. It was extremely disappointing that the author didn't put more effort into it. I've said that in the reviews for the all of the books in the series so far but kept hoping each book would improve since that is typically what happens in a series. I expect the world that was created to evolve as the series goes on giving you more insight into both the characters and world that are created. I did purchase all the books in the series before I started listening to them and don't like to give up on a series I will glad the 4th book was an improvement on the 3rd book.

Great Performance by Julia Whelan

I have heard all 4 guardian books performed by julia whelan. the books are easy to hear and nicely written but what really makes them entertaining is the perfect and emotional reading of julia whelan.
