Publisher's summary

Cinder, the cyborg mechanic, returns in the second thrilling installment of the best-selling Lunar Chronicles. She's trying to break out of prison - even though if she succeeds, she'll be the Commonwealth's most wanted fugitive. Halfway around the world, Scarlet Benoit's grandmother is missing. It turns out there are many things Scarlet doesn't know about her grandmother or the grave danger she has lived in her whole life.

When Scarlet encounters Wolf, a street fighter who may have information as to her grandmother's whereabouts, she is loath to trust this stranger, but is inexplicably drawn to him, and he to her. As Scarlet and Wolf unravel one mystery, they encounter another when they meet Cinder. Now, all of them must stay one step ahead of the vicious Lunar Queen Levana, who will do anything for the handsome Prince Kai to become her husband, her king, her prisoner.

Loved this Book!

I liked the first book but the sequel made me fall in love with this series! Scarlett and Wolf are such great characters and I found their budding romance intoxicating. The narrator does a great job making each character come to life in a unique way. I can't wait to listen to the next book!

Annoying scarlet

I enjoyed Cinder but scarlet is naive and annoying. How many times does she whine about her grandmother.

Thoroughly enjoyed it

I really liked this book, however, though the book is titled Scarlet, I really disliked the character of, well, Scarlet. I suffered through her chapters and couldn't wait to reach Cinder's, Kai's or Thorn's chapters. I was really invested in Cinder's story in the first book and hoped to find more of it in this one. That being said, I still thoroughly enjoyed it and can't wait to listen to the third book.

Love this book

This is the second time I’ve listened to this story. Once by myself and once with my daughter. It’s a lot of fun and quite a bit of action. Love the development of the story and the reader does a good job with voicing personalities for the characters.

Read this one! It was great!!!!!

I was a little put off that Cinder (book 1) ended in a cliff hanger and waisted no time getting the next book. I loved Wolf and Scarlett. It was a bit awkward at times but super sweet and kept me wanting more. I was a little annoyed with Cinder and her secrets and enjoyed the contrast with Scarlett. The story is so creative and engaging I never want to put it down for long. So glad I found this series. Fantastic author and phenomenal narration!! Now on to book 3!

Cringe

I loved the story. However every time the person reading had to do a male voice it was cringe worthy. I had to power through for the sake of the story but it’s only really one male voice that is really cringe worthy it’s the “wolf voice” she does. Other then that liked it. Just don’t do the wolf voice.
