A Fast Good Read (Book 3)

Would you consider the audio edition of Rise to be better than the print version?

Yes' because you can kick back and relax while you listen to someone tell you a story!

What was one of the most memorable moments of Rise?

I believe it was the end when Eve finds someone!

What about Tavia Gilbert’s performance did you like?

She was excellent and had an amazing voice.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes and I pretty much did, well maybe 3 sittings!

This was a great 3rd book to the series and I hope the author continues to write more! She left it at a cliff hanger and well its not a bad ending but it leaves the reader expecting more.

I was hesitant to purchase this audiobook series because, although there were rave reviews about the narrator, there seemed to be a lot of negative reviews about the story. I was hooked after the first book and really enjoyed both Eve and Once. Rise kept me entertained as well, but I grew concerned when I realized I only had one hour left and what seemed to me like a lot of story still to tell. I was right to be concerned. The last hour was a whirlwind that wrapped up a lot of loose pieces, but left me wanting more. I wish the author had taken her time with the final scenes. On the upside, however, she left me wishing for spinoff series focused on the lives of a few of the central characters. To me, that is the sign of a good series.

My kids and I both listened to this series and liked it a lot. If you like Divergent you will like this too.

Good read

Unlike many readers, I liked this last book in the series. I liked the role that Eve played in this book a little more than in Book 2. I thought that Eve did what needed to be done. In addition, it was nice to see that Charles was one of the good. The ending was a bit abrupt, but the best thing, the expected thing, did happen. Good series.

Loved this trilogy. Wish there was Motrin the series. Couldn't stop listening to it. Anna Carey is a great author.

Another two drafts with the help of an excellent editor. One who's focus is on story development

She was an ok narrator. My problem was with the directing of the narration.

loved the series. but why oh why would you end it like that? cruel, just cruel.

*Book 2 Spoilers*----Wow! Let's start off with, narration again was awesome. Good job Tavia Gilbert! Anna Carey has done an AWESOME job with this final installment of this trilogy! My heart was crushed at the end of the last book when Caleb dies. I got this book/audiobook hoping there was some kind of mistake. Eve must carry on without her love and continue the fight for freedom that Caleb was unable to finish. She must kill her father! Come on with an ending like that, how can you not have to read the third book! The pace in this book is sped up by the thrill and fear of getting caught. Through the excitement there is still time for your heartstrings to be tugged on. Charles' love grows for Eve but it is unreciprocated due to her unwavering love for the one she lost. Excellent final book!

Ending missing?

Listened to the first two books and they are pretty good. Good story line, even though I feel there could have been more “meat” to the the relationship with Eveand Caleb. This was also pretty good but then you get to the ending and there is no epilogue and it just stops all of a sudden.
