Publisher's summary

I'm pushing aside the memory of my nightmare, pushing aside thoughts of Alex, pushing aside thoughts of Hana and my old school, push, push, push, like Raven taught me to do. The old life is dead. But the old Lena is dead too. I buried her. I left her beyond a fence, behind a wall of smoke and flame.

Lauren Oliver delivers an electrifying follow-up to her acclaimed New York Times best seller, Delirium. This riveting, brilliant novel crackles with the fire of fierce defiance, forbidden romance, and the sparks of a revolution about to ignite.

Engaging and Suspenseful

Would you consider the audio edition of Pandemonium to be better than the print version?

I did not read the print version of Pandemonium although I may do so since I enjoyed the audio version.

What did you like best about this story?

The book interweaved two different time periods throughout the narrative. It was well done and maintained a coherent theme in which the two stories complemented one another.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Listening to Pandemonium was in some ways a chilling experience. The descriptions of society as it existed in the novel were disturbing, particularly the contrast between those people who still showed emotion and those who remained dispiritingly indifferent.

Looking at the stars, I obviously loved this book!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Absolutely, I would, and have already! I loved the uniqueness of the main story, we've all read the boy meets girl and falls in love although it's forbidden, but it's the WHY that I found so interesting.

What did you like best about this story?

As I just stated, the circumstances under which the characters try to live was something I've not seen/read before. It had me wondering ” What if that were real?”. It certainly kept me interested and entertained.

Which character – as performed by Sarah Drew – was your favorite?

All of them, but Hana and Lena are my favorite!

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Oh heck, I don't know, lol.

Any additional comments?

Read this book,and the others

Down with love triangles

I want to love this book as the writing and style is amazing per Oliver’s usual, however I just can’t handle this love triangle trope. The connection with Julian felt rushed and it’s just a lot of unnecessary pain after an entire book that was all about Alex and Lena to then nothing and someone entirely new. It felt like a lot of build up, to let down, to build up of something new with no resolution of the previous build up, to then the establishment of a messy love triangle. I understand the intention to showcase all the different facets of love and how the heart is capable of loving again even after grief, but to me it was forced. I would still recommend it for those who loved the first book, it continues the story and sets up for an exciting conclusion, but it’s not a book I would want to read a second time. I say all of this because I truly thought the first book was one of the most beautiful stories I’ve ever read. Looking forward to the conclusion 💞

The Craziness Continues!

Would you consider the audio edition of Pandemonium to be better than the print version?

I just love this series! I love everything about the story. Listening while commuting is the only time I have to enjoy books so this is a fantastic option for me.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Pandemonium?

So many memorable moments in this one. Lana is coming into her own and becoming more self sufficient in the wilds.

Which scene was your favorite?

Crying at a shallow grave with Raven and passion with at the home stead with Julien.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Nursing a sick child despite knowing that she is dead.

Any additional comments?

I was a little irritated with the pronunciation change of Hana's name from book one to this version and a sometimes got a bit lost between the then and now jumps.

More captivating than Delirium

What did you like best about this story?

The story is fast paced with a few twists and turns in it. I enjoyed seeing how the author developed the characters throughout the story from the last book to this one. The ending was good idea but a predictable set up for the next book.

What does Sarah Drew bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Her narration is great! She is easy to listen to but isn't too slow.

April Kepner is Deliria.

i burned through book two. I saw that ending coming. i enjoyed the book. Hearing Sarah Drew's voice and hearing Kepner in that voice kinda gives the book more "texture" (to me).

Will get into the last book soon enough.

Slightly Predictable but Good

This book in the series was not as good as the first, but I expected that. I struggle with series; I like a conclusion in one book. Even though the ending was completely predictable, the story was still good. There were new strong characters that I liked and there were plot twists that I didn't expect. Lena was more foolish in this book and I have to say I was often dissapointed with her.

The narrator was also better in the first book. She did a great job expressing different characters, but I felt like she was often over the top with her acting. She put a lot of drama into certain scenes which I didn't like. Also, the pronunciation of one character was changed which ended up bugging me.

Overall, the preformace was good and the story was great. I will definitely be listening to book #3 in the series.

HANNAH vs. HONNA

Why is Hannah’s name pronounced differently from the first book to the second book? It’s so irritating!
I was so annoyed about this that it made it difficult to want to listen to the book.

A teenage love story set in dystopian future

The narrator has an unnatural cadence that makes it hard to lose yourself in the story. Kind of like a news reporter reading a headline. The story is entertaining but nothing special. Follows a predictable story line.
