Publisher's summary

Trying to work things out with Nash, her maybe boyfriend, is hard enough for Kaylee Cavanaugh. She can't just pretend nothing happened. But "complicated" doesn't even begin to describe their relationship when his ex-girlfriend transfers to their school, determined to take Nash back.

See, Sabine isn't just an ordinary girl. She's a mara, the living personification of a nightmare. She can read people's fears - and craft them into nightmares while her victims sleep. Feeding from human fear is how she survives.

And Sabine isn't above scaring Kaylee and the entire school to death to get whatever - and whoever - she wants.

This series gets better with each book

What did you love best about My Soul to Steal?

All the characters Sabine really does spice things up, and is pushing Kaylee to reevaluate her priorities and how she wants to continue in her relationships.

What other book might you compare My Soul to Steal to and why?

Not a book but reminds me of Buffy the Vampire Slayer TV series, because in each book Kaylee is dealing with a new and very difficult situation, that no teenager should deal with. I'd call it "Banshee at Hellmouth"

What about Amanda Ronconi’s performance did you like?

Amanda Ronconi is really great with the character voices, and makes the emotions believable. I hope she will continue narrating this series

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When Sabine confronts Kaylee telling her to get in touch with her feelings, Kaylee is angry with Sabine, but I think she also respects her to some decree because of all the people be it her "boyfriend" Nash, or Todd or her family Sabine is the only one telling her the truth, and I think she's starting to see that. It doesn't matter that Sabine has issues, she's really not "Evil"

Any additional comments?

Even though this is for young adults, my whole family is really enjoying this series. Each Book gets better and the characters have developed in each book as well. It's great to see new characters as well. Lots of action and that's what we all like. Well worth credits.

Loved it!!

Wonderful follow-up to the other books! I know these are geared more towards teens, but I have to admit, I listened to them first... and purchased the books in paperback for my teens for Christmas! Rachel Vincent has quickly become one of my favorite authors!

A guilty pleasure!

I am thoroughly enjoying this series that is in the same genre as Buffy The Vampire Slayer. This may not have as many levels or depth as Buffy does, but it is very well written and the main character, Kaylee, is smart, funny and engaging.
The continuing plot has really held my interest as well as the trials and tribulations of the kids in high school.
Amanda Ronconi is a very skilled narrator. Definitely a guilty pleasure and a fun listen.

This one kept me up at night with stress

Sabine is so unlikeable, the thought of having her in my life even for one more second would have had me dumping Nash like a hot potatoe and begging my father to go back to his job at the pub in Ireland. And in real life, the thought of having more Sabine makes me wonder if I would want to read the next book.

Stressed

I love this series and will , of course continue to read the sequels but this one is torture! The Kaylee and Nash problems have me so stressed. I’m lowkey hoping her and Todd get together, I guess we will see. They should make this series into a television show.

Prepare for Emotional Torture

Yes, I loved the other three books, but the first half of this one is a heavy dose of emotional torture. The angst, jealousy, and fear is palpable and painful. I was ready to give up this series. Nash's xgirlfriend is a nightmare, literally, and I could have dealt with that if he wasn't such a royal pain in the butt as well. Even Todd is spouting crap disguised as wisdom. In the second half, the author lets us in on her clever little twist involving the Hellion of Envy, but by that time I almost didn't care anymore if Kaylee kept Nash or gave him up to Sabine and since that issue was never really resolved we have to wait for the next book.

Crazy ex-girlfriends

Any additional comments?

I really liked this book because it was a little different then the others I feel there was a lot more character development and a little less other world demon drama which I really liked. I totally hated Sabine but she grows on you and I can't wait to see what happens next.

Not my favorite, but...

I've been enjoying this series so far, but have to say that this book was my least favorite so far.
I get they're teenagers and where teen relationships are, drama tends to follow...or, well, it's in all age relationships, but I think teen books stir the big pot a bit more.
I felt no sympathy for Sabine and found her character annoying, but maybe that's what the author wanted, a character to stir up a big boiling pot of bitchatude and by-golly this gal delivered a feast of it.
I felt this book was more on the catfight over Nash than the story and I'm liking Nash's character less and less in each book.
I'm a bit disappointed that Todd's character wasn't in this book as much, but hopefully he will be in the next book.
As for Kaylee, I'm hoping she makes up her mind if she actually wants Nash or not.
I liked the conversation Todd had with Kaylee about her and Nash not being right for each other and his view on life and choices from his side. Life is short. I really am beginning to like Todd's character more and more.
Do have to say without spoiling anything, some part of me is predicting outcomes of characters, but could just be me.
Off to the next book in the series.

Another winner

Must listen to this book if you have been listening to this series. Sabine is really easy to hate but understandably determined to win back her ex-boyfriend at any cost. kailie is once again too nice for her own good but that's why we love her.
