Publisher's summary

It was supposed to be a fun day, shopping at the mall with her best friend. Then the panic attack started and Kaylee Cavanaugh finds herself screaming, unable to stop. Her secret fears are exposed, and it's the worst day of her life....Until she wakes up in the psychiatric unit.

She tries to convince everyone she's fine - despite the shadows she sees forming around another patient and the urge to scream that comes burbling up again and again.

Everyone thinks she's crazy. Everyone except Lydia, that is. Another patient with some special abilities....

Incomplete

The story is good but stops so abruptly. It doesnt even feel like a cliffhanger it just stops so suddenly without any answers it's weird. I'll get the next one to see what happens but if the next one cuts off like that I'll be done with this series & prob the writer as well.

Good read (listen)

It was a good short story to listen to. It gave a good description of an extreme panic attack.

Well done fantasy thriller

I really enjoyed this fantasy thriller. It was gripping and well done. I find it such a twist on a banshee type of paranormal figure.

Riveting

Riveting story that keeps the reader on the edge, wanting more, entangled in the lives of the characters.

Well written

I’ve not read the other books in this series as this was a random grab from audible escape. I found it to be well written. My only advice is that a summary at the end to introduce the series and give a hint as to what was going on would have been good

Exactly What Was Expected

It's basic turn-off-your-brain reading, with an extra dab of ableism and the romanticizing of mental illness (because apparently mental illness is not a real problem, and should be treated as a meaningless plot device whenever necessary). If you ever doubt that America is a country of idiots, just take a look at the trash we read from childhood onward. But I guess I read it too, so I'm part of the problem.

good short read

A quick good read. Ending was unexpected but a bit thrilling and just made the book more understandable.
