Seventeen-year-old Alice Bonham's life feels out of control after she meets Jack. With his fondness for pink Chuck Taylors and New Wave hits aside, Jack's unlike anyone she's ever met. Then she meets his brother, Peter. His eyes pierce through her, and she can barely breathe when he's around. Even though he can't stand the sight of her, she's drawn to him. But falling for two very different guys isn't even the worst of her problems. Jack and Peter are vampires, and Alice finds herself caught between love and her own blood....

KHRISTINE HVAM OR EILEEN STEVENS PLEASE

THE STORY WAS PRETTY GOOD, HOWEVER THE NARRATOR LEFT MUCH TO BE DESIRED. I HAD TO LISTEN EXTREMELY CLOSELY TO FOLLOW WHO WAS SUPPOSED TO BE SPEAKING AT THE TIME.

What Is Up With The Unnecessary Slowness???

Would you try another book from Amanda Hocking and/or Hannah Friedman?

I have read Amanda Hocking's books before on my Kindle(This series included) and really enjoyed them. With a deal of $2 an audio book for the first three in this series, I figured, why not.But I would not choose to get more books read by Hannah Friedman. She read so so slow and added unnecessary pauses. Also, she couldn't decide if she wanted Ezra to have an accent or not. He would have one and then all of the sudden he wouldn't.

What other book might you compare My Blood Approves to and why?

I would definitely compare it to Twilight. It is different, but there are parts where you are thinking, "I've heard this somewhere before."I guess there are only so many teenage vampire scenarios that you can have.I just wish that if an author wanted to write a vampire story that they would get creative with it.

Would you be willing to try another one of Hannah Friedman’s performances?

No, would not. I do have two more books in the series that I have purchased and I think she narrates them all. I will not be purchasing any more because of her narration.I think I will just stick to reading the Kindle or physical copy of this series.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

I enjoyed the story okay enough. I haven't read the last book in the series because I read she wasn't going to write it.Now I see that she did. So I was hoping to re read all of the books and finally find out what happened. If the story seems like it will be something you would enjoy. Please read the book. Don't let my review make you not read/listen to it. Just be prepared for a very... slow... listen... I would recommend getting it on the Kindle or a physical copy and reading it yourself. Your own narration is usually better anyway. :)

A vampire novel with an interesting story

Would you consider the audio edition of My Blood Approves to be better than the print version?

No. The voices of different characters sounded similar or mocking at times which occasionally pulled me out of the experience.

What other book might you compare My Blood Approves to and why?

The Twilight series. There is the same idea of falling for a vampire and the ensuing chaos that follows, although instead of being clear cut and knowing who will be with who, the reader will be surprised at how things turn out.

What aspect of Hannah Friedman’s performance would you have changed?

I think it would add to the audiobook if the voices were a bit different to make each character more unique.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

*Spoiler*
In one of the final scenes, my favourite character who was beginning to seem more like a best friend of brother character steps up and takes care of the main character making him seem more like the possible love interest I was hoping he would be from the start.

Any additional comments?

A bit of the story is lost by voices but the book itself is interesting and I am looking forward to reading the rest of the series.

Great book

Would you consider the audio edition of My Blood Approves to be better than the print version?

I didn't read the print version, but it was my first audio book. I really enjoyed it and ended up purchasing the rest of the series.

What other book might you compare My Blood Approves to and why?

I guess it was a little like the Twilight series but easier for adults to relate to.

What does Hannah Friedman bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

She allowed me to enjoy the story in the car.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Not really

Very basic story line

What did you like best about My Blood Approves? What did you like least?

This book had a weak story line. It was like reading any other teen vampire book. Some parts were stupidly put together as if the author didn't really put much thought to the events and there wasn't any exciting parts in it.

Really enjoyed.....

I really enjoyed this book and couldn't wait to download the second in the series..I could relate to the characters as if they were friends of mine. I hope the second book is just as good as the first.

Loved it

What made the experience of listening to My Blood Approves the most enjoyable?

The story kept a great pace

What did you like best about this story?

I liked the reality of it, I know vampires are not real, but I liked that Hocking protrayed them as "not so perfect" as well as the human characters. If there are vampires in the world I think they would be pretty close to what the characters are in these books

What does Hannah Friedman bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I think she did a great job with the accents and brought the characters personalities to life quite well

My blood approves! New creative and amazing story!

Where does My Blood Approves rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I enjoyed it all. The naration and the plot. It was different than many Teen fiction that I had read in the past. A nice change.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I really enjoyed getting to know Peter. His charactor had a lot of iner termoil and I liked that.

Have you listened to any of Hannah Friedman’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No I have not but I was verry impressed. Her voices are believable and bring the book to life

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes and indeed I did read it in one night.

Any additional comments?

Some of the others reviewers did not seem to like this book. i respect their appinions but I really have enjoyed it as well as the reast of the books in the series. I would not say it is the best book ever and it could have a little more action but in all it is a fun read. You learn all the people in it well and the romance is great. It takes fun twists.
