I'm a grad student with very little time to edit reviews because I'm editing research papers. Forgive the typos. They're made with love.

"Girl tries to win boy from... his sister?"

Jack, the love interest, wants to be with the girl he likes a lot but there's this whole problem about having to marry his sister, who is not his sister, but is his twin. Oh, I understand, don't get me wrong, the author makes a very compelling argument that twin souls (angels) born in heaven have to marry, or bond, to become one, thus making them whole. They are only half of themselves right now. Except when these two, Jack and Mimi, are usualy born to seperate families and can find each other to be soulmates, this cycle they were born twins. But here's my complaint. Incest aside (tho why its a theme these days is beyond me) the author left herself away out of the whole brother-sister thing and didn't take it. The angels CHOOSE who to bring back when. That might be a bit of a spoiler but they do actually say it in teh first book as well, its just a little more cryptic. So why, knowing the issue we have these days with incest, does Charles/Michael decide to bring back Mimi and Jack as brother and sister? There's a spell they can cast to make us all forget they were siblings and they just keep their name, but we DO get to spend the book watching our heroine fight her crush's sister for him.

Kudos to the author however for giving us the masked ball earlier instead of making us wait til the end... that was refreshing. Also, the intrigue was stepped up just enough to make it quite the page-turner, or should I say, couldn't-put-the-headphones-downer.

I'm still not as fond of the voice, but it's not so bad when half the characters are older. Still, They should have had a VO artist with a range to teenager.

    "A MUST READ."

like many of you who are looking for your fix after being hooked on the twilight series as well as the house of night series, the blue bloods saga will definately take you on a great vampiric ride with a new twist to the old ledgends. After reading the first blue bloods book, i was simply compelled by my own curiousity to find out what happens to our young and unknowing heroin skyler van alan and just between you and me, the follow up, masquerade, dose not disapoint. Enjoy

    "Good story... Awful narrator"

I read the first book in this series and got the second one to listen to on a road trip. I enjoyed the story, but the narrator was horrible. Several of the female characters sound like men or like they have been heavy smokers for many years ~ these are teenage girls! One character, Bliss, goes in and out of a what the narrator feels passes for a Texas accent from word to word. I would only listen to one of these books again if it had another narrator. Otherwise I will stick with plain old reading...
