Super surfer Lockie Leonard is all alone on the beach after his girlfriend dumps him, but things start looking up after he meets Egg. Egg is a metalhead, the traditional enemy of surfers, but the boys learn to look past the superficial and begin to bond, especially after they discover a major environmental problem in one of the local harbors. This sequel to Lockie Leonard, Human Torpedo is a funny and poignant adventure story with strong environmentalist themes, although the sheer number of Australian references might be disconcerting for those who don't live down under. Performer Stig Wemyss captures the energy and enthusiasm of teenage boys with skill.
