Since ancient times, the great demon prison Zzyzx has protected the world from the most dangerous servants of darkness, including Gorgrog, the Demon King. After centuries of plotting, the Sphinx is on the verge of recovering the five artifacts necessary to open the legendary prison. To this end, Kendra, Seth, and the Knights of the Dawn will venture far beyond the walls of Fablehaven to strange and exotic magical preserves across the globe, where the end of every quest becomes the beginning of another. In this explosive series finale, allegiances will be confirmed and secrets revealed as the forces of light and darkness collide in a desperate struggle to control the keys to the demon prison.

"Kept me turning the pages until 4:40 in the morning . . . deep, intriguing, magical... one of the most enjoyable fantasies I've read." (Christopher Paolini, bestselling author of Eragon)
"The Fablehaven series is generating buzz as a contender in the fantasy-adventure genre to replace the Harry Potter franchise." (Hollywood Reporter)
"[Mull's] story offers unexpected twists and entertainingly scary creatures." (The New York Times)
Recently found a love for books and with Audible I can clean and keep going - I also use it in my classroom to urge kids to read.
This was a fantastic book, only I went backwards. It was The Five Kingdoms that got me to Brandon Mull, but this was a definite investment of time and well worth it. !!
The overall story is good however the audible version was taken from CD and some CD's were not spliced right. you get "you have reached the end of CD (number). please insert CD (number + 1) to continue, all while the actual story plays over top. so it's garbled in some places.
This is not a genre that I would normally read but my grandchildren recommended it. I loved it more than Harry Potter.
Some reviewers did not like the narration. I thought it was wonderful and just perfect for these books. I have read/listened to the whole series and am looking forward to more by this author and narrator.
I could not imagine how the 5th book in this series would top the rest, as my friends said it would, but it did! My daughter and I immensely enjoyed listening to the Series finale!!! We'd wake up an hour early in the mornings just to listen. Hooray!!!! Thank You, Brandon Mull for such an uplifting and inspiring series!!!
One of the most intricate and spectacular Books ever! Feels like you're not in the same world anymore.
Absolutely amazing intriguing and interesting best series ever!
The hardest thing to work out when reading any new series isn't that it will end, although that is always a worry. I mean, who doesn't want a good series to go on and on? No, it is the worry that the pace and the character development slows, or even stops. Brandon Mull has outdone himself in the final book. The scenery and plot constantly twisted and changed. You didn't know what was coming next, where the protagonists would travel to or who would meet them. Bravo sir.
As for E.B. Stevens.... You are on par with Jim Dale, one of the world's best performers and the man who performed all seven Harry Potter books. You did a fantastic job through all five books, and in particular didn't lose whatever gained from the first book. Well done.
Get all five books paper or listening. It is totally worth it. I now have both complete sets.
