An insatiable attraction heats to the boiling point in this steamy book set in the shore town of Sea Breeze from the author of the white-hot The Vincent Boys.
Preston is one bad boy. And Amanda has harbored a crush on him for forever. When she finally makes her move on him, it does not end well. But still, she can't resist him. Especially now that he seems to be pursuing her, too.
No one wants them to be together. Not Amanda's brother Marcus, who is on the verge of his marriage to Low, and definitely not any of Preston's buddies. They know way too much about Preston's dark side. Even Preston realizes he's not good enough for someone like her.
But Amanda believes there is more to Preston than his bad boy persona, and she is determined to unearth what he's hiding behind his seductive blue eyes - secrets that could explain his actions. Secrets Amanda might not be able to forgive.
Yet the dangerous attraction persists...and neither Preston nor Amanda is going to deny it.

I like how Preston is responsible for his siblings. I don't like Amanda.
Yes - Kirby Heyborne. Maybe - Shayna Thibodeaux
I give this book 3 stars. I was an OK read. I like Just for Low much better. I thought Preston was sweet and responsible. Granted the job he picked was not ideal but it was the only thing he thought of that he could earn enough money to support his family. I don't get me wrong, I don't condone what he picked but I understand where he came from. I think Amanda is sweet but very judgmental and spoil at times. She has a shelter life. When she found out about Preston's job, she broke up with him. It would be nice if she tried to understand why he did it. I thought the ending was a little be haste.
Once you get to know these characters from Sea Breeze you'll want to know their individual stories. And if you liked the book Because of Low, you might want to give this one a try. In this series, as in most, you know the characters will end up together after some ups and downs but without being overly done with drama. Which is why this series light & fun with some surprises. And this particular book has a great story all on it's own.
Wife, mom, and book lover
Might not be your typical love story but I'm a sucker for the young romance of all Abbi Glines books.
The beginning, some good good boning
I love the narrators, especially her male voice for some reason I really love
"As briliant as the Vincent Boys"
Really loved this book. Very easy to listen to, well paced, well written and well performed. A steamy romance with an interesting plot and characters. I'd prefer Amanda to have been a bit more spunky and less 'knees melt every time Preston is around despite him treating her very VERY badly" but hey ho you take what you can get. I'm officially a fan of Abbi Glines and can't wait for the release of "Fallen too Far" and "Breathe" on audio - both sound like great reads/listens. I think Abbi Glines is carving out a nice little niche for herself with these books - its romance but with a modern twist with a little more steam added.
