Not as good as Divergent
Is there anything you would change about this book?
Some actual action please! No, moving from place to place and then griping with each other some more is not action! This second book in the series is filler material and served just two purposes: 1) to resolve the war among the factions and 2) reveal the Big Secret about what this whole fenced-in Chicago area is all about (which happens, literally, on the last page.)
I would have liked less whining from the main characters.
If you’ve listened to books by Veronica Roth before, how does this one compare?

Great sequel
I thoroughly enjoyed the second book for the Divergent trilogy. Listeners complained about Tris constantly be unsure or whining, but I think it contributed to the reality of certain situations. People feel insecure or doubt themselves all the time. The relationship was just right. Not too romantic, and not too dramatic. Ready for book 3!

Trying too hard
Although this second installment was a little better than the first book (Divergent), I felt it was trying too hard to again copy the formats and success of other unique best sellers. This book obviously copies elements and format of The Hunger Games as well as characters and situations from Twilight & Ender's Game. The story was ok but if you have read the other three series, this story line, the characters, and outline were distracting. If you're ok with that, you may enjoy the book more than I did. I was excited to start this series when I heard about it, but found myself feeling cynical about the elements of the book rather that just enjoying the story! To me, the author has just tried to copy what other authors have created and imagined!

I liked the story of the movie better
i liked the story line of the movie better. it seemed to flow more. it hit on all the important parts without changing it too much. the back amd forth with tris and tabias got kind of annoying after awhile. but I did enjoy it.
