Publisher's summary

The world has fallen in love with Nick Gautier and Sherrilyn Kenyon's Dark-Hunter novels.

Now Nick's saga continues in Infamous, the next eagerly anticipated volume in the Chronicles of Nick series...

Go to school. Get good grades. Stay out of trouble. That's the mandate for most kids. But Nick Gautier isn't the average teenager. He's a boy with a destiny not even he fully understands. And his first mandate is to stay alive while everyone, even his own father, tries to kill him.

He's learned to annihilate zombies and raise the dead, divination and clairvoyance, so why is learning to drive and keep a girlfriend so dang hard? But that isn't the primary skill he has to master. Survival is.

And in order to survive, his next lesson makes all the others pale in comparison. He is on the brink of becoming either the greatest hero mankind has ever known.

Or he'll be the one who ends the world. With enemies new and old gathering forces, he will have to call on every part of himself to fight or he'll lose everyone he cares about.

Even himself.

Will Nick be infamous for Good or for Evil?

Nick is growing up but is he going to fulfill his destiny for good or for evil? This books turns from the previous two because it is a little more serious and, while it still has humor, it doesn't leave you laughing till you cry over crazy shirts. You start to understand more about who Nick really is and why the people around him have made the choices they did. After all, the choices we make are what put us on the path we follow. But as our favorite DH says, just because we can do something doesn't mean you should. Nick faces that scenario several times in this installment you won't be able to put down and will have you begging for you more as it ends.

Sherrilyn Does it again

I have listened to every SK CON, Dream Hunter, Dark Hunter and Werehunter audio book that SK has. I can not wait for the next installment.

If you are not a Sherrilyn Kenyon listener yet this is a great story line to jump start you off. Start with the CON series and then jump into the Dark Hunter Series for the back ground of all the characters. You will get sucked into the NOLA life style and familiar surrounding if you have ever visited New Orleans, LA. You will cheer on Nick and Freinds and get a better understanding of who to expect when you listen to the other Series for back storeies.

Great Story, Great narrator for the the voices

Would you listen to Infamous again? Why?

This was a fun read and because of the narrator Holter Graham this is a book I will listen to multiple times. The story is interesting and it gets better with each book as the time traveling twists pile up and new revelations This will also make a great series to listen to with the main Dark Hunters series, especially after it is done and we can go back to catch all the revelations.

What other book might you compare Infamous to and why?

I'd loosely compare this book to Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince because this installment really focused on the fact that Nick is a teenager with all the emotions and circumstances that brings, especially with his circumstances of being poor and feeling like now one ever seriously listen to him or believes in him, especially his parental figures. There was a lot of that teen angst in Harry Potter book 6 and that's OK, because we can all understand where Nick is coming from, I felt my own temper rise for his sake a lot in this book because I've felt like he has and got emotionally involved in proving him right.

What does Holter Graham bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

He has great narration and he changes his voice enough to give the other characters voices their own personality. His voices have real inflection and emotion expressed in them when he speaks their words. While I would reread this book again when the series is over just to catch all the foreshadowing hints and time travel hijinks clues, listening to him makes it more fun.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The greatest moments of the book for me were the beginning when we finally got a big revelation about future Nick's past' that we had been waiting for for 2 books and near the end half when young Nick took a moment to grow up some and realize who he really loved and was able to overcome his inner demon and take a terrible risk to save that person.

Any additional comments?

This book is worth getting, especially if you like the Dark Hunter series. Unlike most of her other heroes and heroines in this series Sherrilyn really gets a chance to develop her characters personalities, histories and voices because all the drama doesn't have to be tied up in one book so each book gets the build on the last one and characters get to slowly develop real feelings over time. That fall in true love over a week thing that is common to romance and books that are half romance genre really annoy me because it is so unreal, but I put up with it in the DH books because everything else is awesome, but in this series the relations ships feel more real and natural. I like it.

Book 3 and I'm still truckin' on

This is well written series , I sometimes feel however I need a glossary and a graphic organizer of regular characters. Whose a demon, whose half animal, whose a witch, or even perhaps an angel ?? But this was good and this book taught some real good lessons about self worth.

YA Novel interesting enough for all Adults

If you could sum up Infamous in three words, what would they be?

Interesting, Entertaining, Engaging

Who was your favorite character and why?

Nick, of course. He is such a wonderful character, his dual nature makes him incredibly interesting and his choices and decisions show that he is trying so hard to continually do the rigth thing regardless of what everyone keeps telling him. He is determined not to let others dictate his future.

What does Holter Graham bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Holter Graham has definately embodied the character of Nick. He reads as if the story is, indeed, his and the emotional depth he brings to the character is one of the best things about listening to the book.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I think Nick's regard for his mom is heartfelt. Though I do not think they really understand each other and the constant whining and badgering of his mom makes me realize even more how much Nick cares for her that he just stands and takes all she dishes out.

Any additional comments?

Very enjoyable series. I am looking forward to hearing more from Nick and finding out if he is "master of his own fate".

The Story Just Keeps Getting Better!

What did you love best about Infamous?

Nick's way of handling the dude who harassed Wren in the bar...

Who was your favorite character and why?

Well, Nick was my favorite character because the whole series revolves around his struggle to maintain equilibrium between being a human being and a super power. That he has no real training on how to handle deadly power with conscience and heart.

What does Holter Graham bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Soul. No kidding, Holter brings life to the words and makes the story really suspend reality for the listener. His range of voice and tone fits this goth series to a "T".

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

There are always hugely funny moments in Kenyon's books and the Chronicles of Nick are no exception so yes, I laughed out loud in places.

Any additional comments?

If you're a Chronicles of Nick fan already, what can I say? More great story here and listening to it read by Holter is a treat worthy of a Broadway performance. If you haven't begun the Chronicles of Nick audio series, I so suggest that you begin now...
