Publisher's summary

In the fourth book of the Bloody Jack series, Jacky Faber, having been called a pirate and had a price put on her head by the King of England, has no choice but to stay out of sight.

Hoping for a safe hiding place, she returns to the Lawson Peabody School for Young Girls in Boston, but the calm doesn't last long.

On a class field trip to Boston Harbor, the girls are abducted and forced into the hold of the Bloodhound, a ship bound for the slave markets on the Barbary Coast where they will be put up on the auction block and sold into Arab harems.

Jacky wouldn't dream of going down without a fight, but the delicate Lawson peabody girls are in over their heads. Although Jacky will use anything in her arsenal to help her well-heeled classmates, she isn't so certain they will find the strength and courage needed to survive. But if she can convince them to trade petticoats and propriety for her daring escape plan, the girls just might become their own rescuers.

I'm an old man :)

I recently listened to an interview by LA Mayer where he said that most of his listeners are young girls. I am make and approaching 50 and have loved all of them so far.

Another fun book!

Yes, I too got hooked and wanted to find out what next happened to Jackie! This was another great listen. Kellgren does a truly fantastic job narrating Meyer's rather riveting tales!

Love Jacky.

I love this series. Jacky teaches me much on the ways of this world, oh yes she does. This book in particular is wonderful. The resourcefulness of the girls, Jacy's storytelling, and all the parts as a whole, provided me with much joy and some tears as well. This is my 2nd time through the series, and I realized how a person unfamiliar with the series could fall in love with the story on this one and go back to fill out the experience with the earlier stories. Hope you enjoy!!

Just amazing

Rest in peace to both L.A Meyer and Katherine Kelgren. There are both sorely missed.

Couldn't stop listening!

I got the first book in the Bloody Jack series for my son, so he would have something to occupy his time on long car trips. After about a half an hour of listening to that delightful book, I myself was hooked. I must say that In the Belly of the Bloodhound might just be the best in the series. I found myself actually laughing out loud, and crying for the girls in their journey, not to mention I loved it so well, I could not fall asleep until it was finished. Going on three o'clock in the morning now, and I can sleep satisfied. This is most certianly worth the listen.

Perhaps my favorite of the series so far . . .

This installment of the Bloody Jack series is one of the most creative I have read. The girls of the Lawson Peabody School for Young Girls are thrust into a situation where they must rely solely on their wits and each other. New alliances are formed, previously unknown skills are mastered, and more is leaned about Jacky's life on the streets of London as an orphan. Warning #1: You will laugh out loud many times throughout this book. Warning #2: You will probably cry, too. Warning #3: If you love to hate Clarissa Worthington Howe, look out!

Deep excitement

Once again Jacky is brave, resourceful, and downright funny. The best in the series so far.

Jackie Fabre rides again

Very enjoyable. Katherine Kellgren is the absolute best reader/performer. Story not as good as the previous books but still great.
