Publisher's summary

In the fourth book of the Bloody Jack series, Jacky Faber, having been called a pirate and had a price put on her head by the King of England, has no choice but to stay out of sight.

Hoping for a safe hiding place, she returns to the Lawson Peabody School for Young Girls in Boston, but the calm doesn't last long.

On a class field trip to Boston Harbor, the girls are abducted and forced into the hold of the Bloodhound, a ship bound for the slave markets on the Barbary Coast where they will be put up on the auction block and sold into Arab harems.

Jacky wouldn't dream of going down without a fight, but the delicate Lawson peabody girls are in over their heads. Although Jacky will use anything in her arsenal to help her well-heeled classmates, she isn't so certain they will find the strength and courage needed to survive. But if she can convince them to trade petticoats and propriety for her daring escape plan, the girls just might become their own rescuers.

Jackie Fabre rides again

Very enjoyable. Katherine Kellgren is the absolute best reader/performer. Story not as good as the previous books but still great.

Adventure continues!

I've enjoyed thoroughly the presentation of Jackie's Adventures along with her vivid descriptions of the friends she meets along the way. This book played on some more serious things like slavery and there was more death and some unbelievable parts. guess that's all part of it.

Not the best but cute

A little slower than previous Bloody Jack books but overall a job well done. If you already love the series, it's worth it

Love Jackie

Really enjoying the series. I don't want it to come to an end. The audio voice is also very good.

This book has some of the best advice to live by

If you’re this far into the series by now you don’t need to be told how wonderful Jacky is or how masterful Meyer was, rest his lovely soul. What I will say is how this book gave me some of the best advice for dealing with a problem. Cry your very heart out and then make a plan.

Still Excellent, If Dark

Not the jaguar of L.A. Meyer's series but certainly a top notch breed of it's own. An interesting twist I never expected, a wonderful refocus on the evolution not just of Jackie but of her classmates. I can't wait for the next book! Kellgren as always a treat of a narrator. (Could there be a more perfect lady for this role?)

Great Plot....and Devious Plotting!

Jacky Faber comes to life once again with a whole new saga! Jacky and her school mates are trapped in the belly of a ship, and the zany adventures continue, despite most of them being confined to one room! It is a testament to the author's creativity that she can craft such a gripping tale with such limited scenery. The characters are all too human and very realistically portrayed. The story of course, isn't plausible, but that's what a great story is all about - making the impossible happen and pull you along in the tale! And well, with Jacky, anything could - and does - happen. A great continuation of a fantastic series. Don't miss it!

I'm an old man :)

I recently listened to an interview by LA Mayer where he said that most of his listeners are young girls. I am make and approaching 50 and have loved all of them so far.
