No one wants to be this teacher's pet.
The entire school's talking about the gorgeous new math teacher, Mr. Beck. Everyone except Kaylee Cavanaugh. After all, Kaylee’s no ordinary high-school junior. She's a banshee - she screams when someone dies.
But the next scream might be for Kaylee. Yeah, it's a shock to her, too. So to distract herself, Kaylee's going to save every girl in school. Because that hot new teacher is really an incubus who feeds on the desire of unsuspecting students. The only girls immune to his lure are Kaylee and Sabine, her boyfriend’s needy ex-girlfriend. Now the unlikely allies have to get rid of Mr. Beck - before he discovers they aren’t quite human, either.
But Kaylee's borrowed lifeline is nearing its end. And those who care about her will do anything to save her life. Anything.

I truly enjoyed this book. I didn't know that it was a YA book until I started it, but it was not too teenager-ish for an adult just looking for a fun read. The characters are solid as well.
I was initially upset to learn the ending, as revealed by some of the characters in the beginning of the book. So I was constantly trying to figure out exactly how that was to be accomplished. I knew the author had a habit of putting the main character in impossible situations just to make the reader skirm. Then there would be a way out.
I figured this would be the same way...no such luck. I was satisfied with the outcome though. Once again, excellent storytelling and narration. it is just as important what you dont say as what you do.
Avid Book Lover but more of a book Listener now days!! I love Mysteries, Vampires, & some Romances. Patterson, Safford, Koontz, Sparks,
Grab the kleenex box for this one! If I Die is another amazing story in this unique series. The characters are well loved, often hated, extremely hormonal & actuallly pretty easily believable even tho they have Supernatural abilities due to Ms.Vincents amazing writing talent. Amanda Ronconi is one of the best narrators on Audible.com. I love listening to stories read by her!
The overall story was really good, but the pregnant teens/baby subplot left a lot to be desired. -enough that I nearly stopped reading the series. Are we really still at a place where teen girls need to be "punished" by pregnancy?
all of it, as usual
Not if they didn't fix the 'verse loophole
SPOILERS IN THE FOOTNOTES: If you're going to start a book with a specific plot/action point* And then completely eradicate it halfway through to push the main plot** then you should find another way to do it. It pissed me off that I had spent all this time for a wimp-out choice for the story***
*seeing the baby's soul in the classroom. I won't even go into the concept of a five or six week pregnancy having a soul. That's a completely different rant.
**then saying that incubus babies had no souls -then what was that in homeroom?
***Having the teacher need Kaylee's soul for his son, thus pushing the "Kaylee needs to die" plot point.
Tell us about yourself!
only a VERY young prepulesent child who is whiny herself
The original story line was why I bought the book, but the auther either has a whiny daughter she based it on or had a fight with her husband/boyfriend and decided to air her gervence in public throught this book!!
Only the original story line which could have been written in Less the a Novalett!!
Say something about yourself!
Yes I would listen again this was the most emotional and heartfelt book of the whole series so far.
The ending when Kaylee get's not happily ever after but a happy for now.
All of the characters are amazingly well done and make you love them all.
I really loved this book it was so emotional. I'm surprised at the turn in Nash's personality and the twist of Todd which I was so not expecting but Todd and Kaylee make a good couple a lot better then Nash and Kaylee in my opinion.
This installment was a surprise. The plot takes you were you may not have expected. Lots of drama, lots of angst and again, well-written and very involving even for a non-teenager as myself.
I may have to read the next book in the series because as of now, it is not available on Audible. But I will definitely hear Amanda Ronconi's voice as Kaylee.
As a fan of most of Vincent's books, I have to say that I enjoyed this particular one the most. The character development and new dimensions to the story has rekindled my interest in Kaylee's story!
I have a real crazy in love relationship with books!!!
I'm not sure how high on the list it is, but it is definitely on the higher end. I greatly enjoyed it.
I loved Caylee (could be spelling that wrong), the main character. She was hilarious. I appreciated when she admitted that she was confused. She was quirky and ultimately believable, not matter how much the story isn't lol. She had a real human element that I think every girl can identify with.
She is awesome as usual. She makes the funniest parts even funnier. In all honesty, I enjoyed the entire performance.
While trying not to be to much of a spoiler, I liked how Caylee's relationship with Todd expanded and how it developed.
This is a pretty awesome book. If you are looking for excitement, a little love, and a ton of humor...this is the book for you. I would have gladly used my credit for this, but I paid cash. This is a great book for any day, no matter if you are feeling up or down!
I absolutely love the audio version! The narrator did such an awesome job that there is no way you can't get attached to the characters!
Todd was my favorite in this one. He is so selfless and always there for Kaylee.
Kaylee. I may not be a banshee hero but I can't help but relate in many ways.
I cried and laughed and that alone says a lot about a book. At the end of every book this series, I'm always sad to have to wait so long before the next one! I'm definitely sure that having such a great narrator only made me love this series even more!!!
This a must read series!!
