As soon as I heard the narrator's voice, I knew I was in for a struggle. She was too overzealous, and tried to hard to sound like a teenager... Making the character sound like an idiot. She also pronounced words in an irritating way such as "impor-Dant" instead of important. I think the writing was a bit too juvenile for it to be believeable that Addison was 17, and I would have preferred a more linear story, but the concept was interesting.
I am a huge bookworm, I read daily and now listen to audiobooks. I review all books I read and listen to on my blog Genuine Jenn.
This was a quick and a fun book to listen to. I really enjoyed it.
Felt like the main character was just chatting with me about what I should and shouldn't do when the Zombies arrive.
I did laugh throughout this book.
This audio book was super fun to listen to and quick. I believe it was just over an hour long, prefect for my commute to work. It has lots of great tips for when the Zombies take over the world. After listening to it, I am sure I will survive the Zombie infested world! There were some tips I didn't even think of but they really are a good idea. If you are planning on surviving the Zombie apocalypse then you will want to grab a copy of this Audio or ebook and learn from Addison what you will need to know to get through it. It is super quick but full of ideas on how to stay alive. I look forward to reading about Dana's Zombie series.I give this audio book a 4 out of 5. The narrator did a great job and I found it easy to listen to.
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review
I have been getting more and more into audio book lately, taking in all kinds of new books and authors.
I really liked the way it was written. It was short and sweet but also fun and helpful!
I likes how it was serious near the end after being fun during the beginning. It had depth while still being pretty light and fun!
This was the first time I have heard her. But, she was great. Lots of energy and everything without sounding over the top!
YES! I couldn't stop. It was just too good!
I can't wait to hear more in this series. Addison is a fun character and the story is so different!
This was as epic as I thought it was going to be! So many of these tips and tricks are things I most likely never would have thought of myself. Now I'm not going to lie, zombies have never been my thing. I have always told people that if a zombie apocalypse were to break out, I would no doubt be the first one dead. I didn't very much trust my zombie apocalypse survival skills. Until this book.
There are so many books and movies out there nowadays about zombie apocalyptic worlds, but I've never come across one that's solely a list of survival skills needed to get THROUGH a zombie apocalyptic world. A very unique piece indeed. I have yet to come across one like it.
After going through all those tips and tricks on surviving a zombie apocalypse, I feel one hundred percent sure that I have a chance to survive at least longer than a week or two should zombies decide they want to take over! With that being said, this was an amazing and fun read (or...hear?). It was a quick one too! We could all spare about an hour or so listening to an audiobook that will help us survive in case of a zombie breakout. I mean, you really never know. Better prepared than sorry!
You can also view this book on Goodreads along with my review through this link: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/1507687878 :) It got solid 5 out of 5 stars from me!
This was a nice little book that combined humour with a slightly serious touch to it.
I even learned a few things that I never thought about before! The Walking Dead could gain from a few of these tips!
I definitely would, this book was the perfect combination of dark and funny. It was the perfect length to listen to easily in one sitting.
I loved the format, a story told through basic rules and anecdotes as to how to survive the zombie apocalypse from the view of a 15 year old girl. It was well researched and hilarious.
While using convincing north american teen girl speak, it wasn't overdone and irritating but came across as hilariously perky in the face of mortal danger and a horrible world.
The part where Addison explains that the world isn't like a fairytale, that her friend, another young girl, died after falling out of a tree during a zombie attack and that not everyone lives happily ever after.
This was fantastic, I would happily listen to other similar stories by this author.
