Publisher's Summary

Jamie Grimm is a middle schooler on a mission: he wants to become the world's greatest stand-up comedian - even if he always seems to 'choke' in the spotlight. When Jamie finds out about a contest called the Funniest Kid on the Planet, he knows it's time to face his fears and enter. But are the judges rewarding him out of pity because he happens to be in a wheelchair, like his bullying cousin Stevie suggests? And will Jamie ever share the secret of his troubled past - and reason for his disability - instead of hiding behind his comedy act?

In this book that's as heartfelt as it is hilarious, James Patterson dishes out heaps of jokes that will have listeners rolling on the floor and cheering for more.

"We enjoyed this (my 11 year old daughter and I)"
If you could sum up I Funny in three words, what would they be?

    Quick Witty Relatable

What other book might you compare I Funny to, and why?

Diary of a wimpy kid, maybe

Which scene did you most enjoy?

There wasn't one where we lost contact, so I suppose all of them.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The references to bullying from Stevie. My daughter has issues with kids just being an arse to her so it was good to hear that other children experience it and he never lets it get to him

    Any additional comments?

I will look out for Frankie again, he is clear and animated enough that you feel the character coming through.
James Patterson is already taking up lots of spaces in my library, so I am already a big fan of his.
