That's when the first ace arrives in the mail.
That's when Ed becomes the messenger.
Chosen to care, he makes his way through town helping and hurting (when necessary), until only one question remains: Who's behind Ed's mission?

"Zusak succeeds brilliantly." (Booklist)
"Zusak's characters, styling, and conversations are believably unpretentious, well conceived, and appropriately raw. Together, these key elements fuse into an enigmatically dark, almost film-noir atmosphere." (School Library Journal)
Immigration lawyer in Kansas City. I like Character driven dramas, fantasy (monsters, magic and witches oh my!) and coming of age stories. Favs include: The Book Thief, The Game of Throne series, Harry Potter Series, Dresden Files, Nightside series, anything by Neil Gaimen, 100 Years of Solitude.
Maybe I would have liked this book better had I not just listened to the Book Thief, this author's other book. It was so brilliant, seriously one of the best books I have ever read. The narrator wa s wonderful and the story was ok. but it just didn't grab me like his other book. I didn't care about the characters nearly as much and the book seemed to drag a little.
If you're looking for a quality story, try something else. This book is full of itself. The author spends entirely too much time introducing the same characters over and over again, describing what's going to happen and then having the characters tell you that that's exactly what just happened. The entire story is built around a mystery that is not a mystery. And more than once the author makes you listen to them congratulate themselves on how clever and smart they are, culminating in actually injecting themselves into the book.

This would be it. Țruly a work of art, to be enjoyed and savored.
nowhere as good as the book thief but all right. the tone of the story I. e. the protagonist was slightly dull and we'll not very convincing. it was OK but not great and maybe even hit of a meh too.
I loved this book from the very beginning when I first read it a few years ago and my sister loved it, too. How can you not? The character development is amazing and writing is fantastic. Now I love the narrative done by Marc Aden Gray. He gives the story new life and you can't help but listen to the very last word.
Very deep and thought provoking. wonderful prose. believable characters and situations. well put together story with great meaning.
I highly recommend this story and this author.
I loved hearing the story with the accent and enthusiasm of the reader. I also enjoyed the story itself. The message to me was to wake up and live to your fullest and see what is behind the lives of your friends and strangers. It can be mutually beneficial to reach out and give people a bit of help or just be with them and care. So in sum, a nice story with a message attached.
