Publisher's summary

Romance was not part of Nora Grey's plan. She's never been particularly attracted to the boys at her school, no matter how hard her best friend, Vee, pushes them at her. Not until Patch comes along. With his easy smile and eyes that seem to see inside her, Patch draws Nora to him against her better judgment.

But after a series of terrifying encounters, Nora's not sure whom to trust. Patch seems to be everywhere she is and seems to know more about her than her closest friends. She can't decide whether she should fall into his arms or run and hide. And when she tries to seek some answers, she finds herself near a truth that is way more unsettling than anything Patch makes her feel.

For she is right in the middle of an ancient battle between the immortal and those who have fallen -- and, when it comes to choosing sides, the wrong choice will cost Nora her life.

Great book

I remember reading this book in high school and I loved the series. When I first got audible this was the first book I wanted to listen to again.

I liked the book, but not the narrator

I didn't like the narrator's way of portraying some characters. It made it hard to enjoy the audiobook. However, the plot was good for the most part.

Overall, good.

At times I was confused (who is a good guy vs. who is a bad guy - I'm just used to YA novels being very predictable), but overall I thought it was a good book. Secretly hoping there will be a sequel...

I love this story

I truly love this story. No, I’m not a “young reader” but I do enjoy a supernatural love story based on the hopes of redemption. There are a few holes in the story and I wish that the author had taken the time to include a sub-plot that gave more of Patch’s activities. His lack of presents is painfully disturbing when common sense tells you that he could be assisting in Nora’s misadventures. Where did he go! This the reason I gave 4 and not 5 stars.
The narration was a travesty. I almost fell over with laughter at the beginning when she exclaimed “Are you...fallen!”. Eek! Not mention her tendency to put a short “a” before some of her words.

amazing

I love this book so much. I actually have all four books at my house. But sometimes what I want to reread them it is actually kind of hard for me to be reading a book when I have a 3 year old and constantly cleaning my house or have errands to do. So I downloaded this because my husband is always listening to books like audio books. This was great I finished the book in two days and I love how fast and very easy the woman read it. Highly recommend

unexpectedly addictive

What did you like best about Hush, Hush? What did you like least?

I loved the idea that Patch managed to pull the wool over my eyes in regards to his intentions and motives throughout the book towards more than one charchter.. the thing i liked least is how much this books synopsis manages to undersell the book itself so much so I almost didn't add it to my cart cause i feared it would disgust me in the way Twilight did (which i never managed to read in it's entirety) the only reason i did pick this book up was because it hinted at a dark fallen angel like aspect and I had finished a series for teens (penryn and the end of days by susan ee.) that had impressed me and decided to give Hush Hush a chance. I'm glad I did. and can't wait to read more in this series and see where it takes me.

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

the mind manipulations that patch seems to pack is a gift he chooses to wield darkly to get what he wants. This added dimension to him is wickedly cool. especially when you don't always know what his intent will be towards Nora. for example if you read this pay attention to the scene in the bathroom nearing the end of the story where Nora tries to pull a fire alarm only to realize Patch is messing with her head and then makes her question her sanity while panicking. it's amusing. dark yes but amusing none the less.

How could the performance have been better?

the reader was neutral and didn't do the best job of differentiating the characters from each other. they could have added a male and female to make up the difference. that's my suggestion.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

I would rather see it as a TV show like what ABC is doing with their show Shadowhunters of the shadow hunter series by Cassandra Clare. I would tune in for that.

amazing

I love this book series, and the narrator does a great job of really emphasizing what's going on helps paint a picture very close to like you're reading it yourself.
