Publisher's summary

A dangerous journey. Shattered bonds. Undying passion.

Jacinda was supposed to bond with Cassian, the "prince" of their pride. But she resisted her fate long before she fell in love with Will—a human and, worse, a hunter. When she ran away with Will, it ended in disaster, with Cassian's sister, Miram, captured. Weighed down by guilt, Jacinda knows she must rescue her to set things right. Yet to do so she will have to venture deep into the heart of enemy territory.

The only way Jacinda can reach Miram is by posing as a prisoner herself, though once she assumes that disguise, things quickly spiral out of her control. As she learns more about her captors, she realizes that even if Will and Cassian can carry out their part of the plan, there's no guarantee they'll all make it out alive. But what Jacinda never could have foreseen is that escaping would be only the beginning.

Loyalties are tested and sacrifices made in the explosive conclusion to Sophie Jordan's Firelight trilogy.

Critic reviews

"Therese Plummer's subtle narration disappears into the background as she becomes the caring, emotional Jacinda.... Plummer's steady performance draws listeners into the last episode of this paranormal tale of the draki. Listeners will be able to follow the threads of this story even if they missed the first two books." ( AudioFile)

A Good End To The Story

This was the best book in the trilogy. Jacinda got her act together and stopped being a vacillating, angst-ridden mess. The characters matured to some degree, and the loose ends were tied up in a tidy knot. I'm glad I persevered through the first two books.

Don’t waist your time

This book was like bad mix of Pocahontas and Twilight. Cassian was the only likeable character.

Love!

This book is so good. The narrator did a great job on all 3 Firelight books. The story is really sweet and the author did a wonderful job painting the pictures in my head. I didn't want the series to end. These books should definitely be made into movies!!

Love it!

I love the woman that reads it and the emotion in her voice! I read the story before in high school and wanted to listen to it while working. It is an amazing work and I definitely would recommend to my friends/ young adults.

Characters and their life choices...

Any additional comments?

The ideas are good, but the faculty and their plan seemed too unstable. The love triangle is starting to get pretty suffocating but it all works out in the end. There are quite a few twists and revelations that shake the core of their community that stuns the characters. Don't get me wrong, the stuff is pretty startling but the no breaks between revelations make you kind of drained and numb by that point. Almost like "why not, sure. Add that on, not much difference now.Just keep it coming."

All sarcasm aside, by the end I felt like good riddance. It was a quaint little story that had you running all over the place, but seriously makes you doubt how 'perfect' the endings would ever be for these characters. They run into scenarios, choose poorly, and attract trouble everywhere. The way it ended and how it ended seemed too much of a stretch and rushed. I would not be betting against them and their future of life long happiness if I seriously didn't question their ability to live without drama. I think the author could have changed my view if they took a bit more time to elaborate but overall I'm just happy for Tamra. And that's what matters. Team Tamra!
