Fifteen-year-old Meeka has trained her entire life for the ranks of the Sacred Grove. When her plans go awry, she flees her home and joins the Bow Maidens, a band of lethal women warriors. As she struggles to find herself, Meeka discovers her hidden gift: an ancient magic of her ancestors.
Meanwhile, the assassination of the king leaves Adrik, a young monk, next in line for the throne. To save the kingdom from the ruthless duke, Adrik must join forces with an orphaned cutpurse, an oversized monk, and a bumbling aristocrat. Adrik's survival, and that of the kingdom, depend on the alliances and friendships he forges.

Yes. This story was very entertaining and kept me listening long into the night. I didn't want to stop listening.
I liked how all the different stories connected to each other but still remained separate.
Miss Gaunt gave all the characters very distinctive personalities that really helped me to understand them and who they are.
You never know where your path may lead
I need more of this story!
Yes! Hearing the emotion of the characters helped me to feel as though I was a true part of the story
On first glace I assumed Guardians of the Grove would be filled with heart warming lessons much like "Xena the Warrior Princess" however once I began getting into the story I found it to be a twisting and turning epic adventure unlike any other I have encountered.
I felt that D. Gaunt brought just enough emotion to every character to make a true connection to what they were feeling throughout the length and breadth of the tale. She has a masterful way of adding dramatic pauses that truly impact the listening experience.
There are so many moments throughout the book that are truly moving. Without giving away the storyline I would have to say that meeting Nuella was the culmination of so many arcs that it has to be my favorite.
This story was certainly worth the price. I plan to listen to it over and over again.
This story MUST continue! I am anxiously awaiting the release of The Bow Maiden Chronicles Book 2
Heir of Fire by Sarah J Mass
I really enjoyed the way the book centres around strong females, particularly those who know how to fight and can compete with and best any man around. It is great that books like this are being written! It is an excellent and engaging book and I cannot wait for more!
