Publisher's summary

The riveting conclusion to Scott Westerfeld’s New York Times best-selling trilogy that’s “sure to become a classic” (School Library Journal).

Alek and Deryn are on the last leg of their round-the-world quest to end World War I, reclaim Alek’s throne as Prince of Austria, and finally fall in love. The first two objectives are complicated by the fact that their ship, the Leviathan, continues to detour farther away from the heart of the war (and crown). And the love thing would be a lot easier if Alek knew Deryn was a girl. (She has to pose as a boy in order to serve in the British Airforce.) And if they weren’t technically enemies.

The tension thickens as the Leviathan steams toward New York City with a homicidal lunatic onboard: secrets suddenly unravel, characters reappear, and nothing is at it seems in this thunderous conclusion to Scott Westerfeld’s brilliant trilogy.

Perfect ending for this series?

This book is as amazingly written as the rest of the series. It is a perfect finish to the series and gives an ending that feels satisfying but still manages to make the stories world feel as if continues, which I think is an amazing thing to do. It gives all the characters satisfying conclusions while still keeping a feeling of reality. I 100 percent recommend this book and the rest of the series to anyone who is interested.

Alan Cummings narration throughout this book and the series as a whole is incredible. He was the right pick for this story.

Exciting Conclusion

This whole series is good. This final episode wraps it up really well. The narration is great and the characters are very believable for a fantasy work.

Favortie book of the series

I enjoyed this listen, I liked how Westerfeld wrapped up the trilogy and of course I loved the ending but I won't go into that! The writing was great and again the performance was FANTASTIC. I can't believe one person can successfully imitate so many different accents.

The characters were wonderfully interesting and the plot adventurous and exciting. Good listen!

Loved it. Wonderful conclusion to this series.

Great ending, to a good trilogy.

The middle book left me wondering if the author had lost his way and doubting I wanted to continue, but this book was closer to the first, loads of intrigue and a satisfying conclusion that involves more historical figures.

A must read, well worth your money.

Good second book to end series...

What made the experience of listening to Goliath the most enjoyable?

just an enjoyable escape with a good narrator.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

nope

Any additional comments?

Was surprised with 1st book ending. You need to buy both books to listen to what is essentially a single story.

Loved It, a Must Listen for All Ages

I can’t think of one thing I’d change. I love the mix of real and alternate history. Simply wonderful for all ages. Please write more about these characters!
Also, Alan Cumming is simply the best narrator and sets the bar for all others. What a joy to listen to him.

The final installment in an excellent series!

I know what you are thinking, When are they going to meet Tesla? Ok,so maybe you weren't thinking that. But lets just say that such a thing could happen given the time period and locations visited in the book. Also, I think the jig might be up for our girl disguised as a guy. But maybe not. If you don't read it you won't know for sure.
