Publisher's summary

The riveting conclusion to Scott Westerfeld’s New York Times best-selling trilogy that’s “sure to become a classic” (School Library Journal).

Alek and Deryn are on the last leg of their round-the-world quest to end World War I, reclaim Alek’s throne as Prince of Austria, and finally fall in love. The first two objectives are complicated by the fact that their ship, the Leviathan, continues to detour farther away from the heart of the war (and crown). And the love thing would be a lot easier if Alek knew Deryn was a girl. (She has to pose as a boy in order to serve in the British Airforce.) And if they weren’t technically enemies.

The tension thickens as the Leviathan steams toward New York City with a homicidal lunatic onboard: secrets suddenly unravel, characters reappear, and nothing is at it seems in this thunderous conclusion to Scott Westerfeld’s brilliant trilogy.

the universe is so unique

The universe that Scott Westfield has created is just so unique, with a great storytelling with a great narrator to boot. The only thing I wish was that the series, was longer :(

Steam punk alternate history

Two of my favorite things in one story how could I lose. A gripping Tale of war and Star-Crossed Romance that spans the war torn globe of WWI.

Great Finish to a great series

The great thing about this series is every book is vastly different. leviathan is still my favorite but Goliath isn't too far behind. All and all a fun, intriguing series.

A decent ending to the trilogy

This was a decent ending to the Leviathan trilogy. It involves Nicolai Tesla and some other fun, but doesn't quite have the gritty excitement that the first book had, or the revolutionary fun the 2nd had. But it did see some important things finally get revealed and resolved and had a somewhat Hollywood style happy ending.

personally I think the series should have gone on

to be honest I thought that the ending would be more exciting than that but still I like the ending and the series a lot

Outstanding finale!

What did you love best about Goliath?

I loved their visit to Japan the best. Deryn and Aleks eat noodles at a roving noodle cart, and that scene has stuck in my mind!

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

Well, the ending is left open so that there could be a sequel. Please, Mr Westerfeld, we'd like more Deryn and Alek!

What about Alan Cumming’s performance did you like?

He's hilarious and does such a funny job with the German accents.

Any additional comments?

If you have listened to the earlier two, you are already downloading this one! If you haven't, go download Leviathan and you'll soon be downloading this one as well. ;)

Amazing ending for an amazing series.

The third and final book of this series, was by far worth the wait I had to endure. I won't spoil the story, however the series changing twist happens halfway through. This change doesn't kill the book, there are far more twists to come. I only wish that a second series would follow, the changes made to the world seem only open up the story even more.

Wonderful conclusion to a BRILLIANT story!

As I said with the second in the series: This whole series is amazing, and I can't say ENOUGH about Cumming's narration and Westerfeld's wit and light touch in regards to descriptors. Most often when author's create a world they feel obligated to the reader to explain *everything* and it can really bog down a story. Westerfeld does not suffer from this, and this series is a brilliant mix of action, adventure, stay true characters, and a gas bag of imagination. Wonderful listen that wouldn't have been nearly as good without Cumming's gaggle of voices in my ears. He's a master of accents and I couldn't imagine this book without him!
