'I have this dream that, secretly, all teenage girls feel exactly like me. And maybe one day, when we realize that we all feel the same, we can all stop pretending we're something we're not... But until that day, I'm going to keep it real on this blog and keep it unreal in real life.'
Penny has a secret. Under the alias Girl Online, Penny blogs her hidden feelings about friendship, boys, high school drama, her crazy family, and the panic attacks that have begun to take over her life.
When things go from bad to worse, her family whisks her away to New York, where she meets Noah, a gorgeous, guitar-strumming American. Suddenly Penny is falling in love - and capturing every moment of it on her blog.
But Noah has a secret, too, one that threatens to ruin Penny's cover - and her closest friendship - forever.

I absolutely love getting lost in the fantasy world. Audible is my favourite addiction ;)
Cute, love, happy
Happy ending :)
I've been a subscriber of Zoella for years on YouTube and was pleased to hear that she had a book out! I downloaded it immediately! Great and cute story! Later on, I heard that she had help from "Ghostwriters", but that doesn't matter to me! They were HER stories, and SHE was the one that got me to buy her book. I support her completely! =P
I absolutely adored this book! I've listened to it three times already, and just can't get enough. For someone that struggles with anxiety this book, well I can't even explain it. I loved how the characters develop, and I found myself listening to it in one sitting the first time. Zoe, thank you for this book. Thank you.
I really liked when she felt all alone because that's how I feel sometimes and I wish I could be more like her and make me think that I'm not.
I enjoyed that se made suspense more suspense or happiness and excitement with her voice.
I laughed a little sometimes but no crying.. it's a pretty happy book.
Simple, Fun, relaxing
Her accent helps the reader see Pennie
The story line was very simple but it was a nice change from the "end of the world" genres recently taking over the book world.
As a writer myself, I always appreciate a great book! My favourite author is Jane Austen :)
I'd like to start out by saying, I don't think I am the demographic this book was aimed towards. I think I am about 10 years too late for this one.
The best thing about this book was the plot twist in the end! I found myself counting pages because I was unsure about the books direction until the very end.
My least favourite thing was what I mentioned before; I was not the demographic. I read this book in about a week. I like to take my time with books but this one dragged on and on. It had a very specific voice aimed toward a young pre-teen girl audience, which I am not.
My favourite character was Elliot. He was the main characters best friend who happened to be gay. I think that by adding casual characters like this in books with large audiences that are for young audiences, we can help destigmatise the minds of our youth about such topics.
Possibly. She took liberty to change words very often (this I could tell when I was reading along) which is up to you if you are in favour of that sort of thing. I myself, am not especially when I am following along with the book.
Nope. I heard that there was a second book in the works before the whole "ghost writer" frenzy began but nothing since. I think we could all survive without a sequel. I don't feel their is really a lot of direction for the characters to go.
If you are a young reader or enjoy youthful books, you may have a better experience than I did. I was really just bored and waiting for the end the entire time, honestly.
This story has roughy millions of people that they are not alone in this work with their panic attacks and now know that it will get better just like it did for penny! Xxx Erin Cordiner
"I'm in love!"
It's absolutely brilliant! I loved this book so much!
I loved everything!
Gosh, I felt everything Penny did! Every emotion possible!
One of my favourite book, thank you!
This was a fantastic book. I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was a very well written book that I could understand well and it all made sense. Some parts made me laugh some parts made me want to cry. This was possibly one of the best books I have read and really enjoyed in a long time. Well done Zoë💗
Fabulous book too hard to stop listening too. Loved the story line, i want to find a noah in new york
"Stay strong Zoe"
Really want to know if any parts of this are real.
I think I'm too old to be reading things like this 🙈 but I loved it
Everything! It was so well written and the story was so engrossing, I really related to the characters. They really came alive and honestly it's now one of my all time favourite books.
Girl Online of course! I loved going on her journey of self-discovery, it was such an uplifting book to listen to and she was so well written I really felt all of her emotions.
The ending was perfectly written, a perfect conclusion to the book. I can't give enough praise to this book, there's nothing worse than an unsatisfactory ending which this book was definitely not a culprit of.
Definitely! I stayed up until I couldn't stay awake any longer and then finished it the next day!
Thank you! Thank you to Zoe for writing this book (even though you'll never see this review) and thank you for all the joy it gave me. Well done for doing such an amazing book, you deserved this opportunity.
"Light & fluffy"
This book is a tad bit cutesie for me, although enjoyable. A nice light read, that will make you smile.
"Fantabulously Emotionally Perfect."
This book is great, I loved it so much although it points in the book it messed with my head and heart but I was glued to this book. An amazing read. And for the record, I'm a teenage boy. And I loved this. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Can't wait for the sequel, Zoe!
Boy Online, Going offline. XXX
Loved the book. its worth the money. well done zollea and penguin team!. great for any ages
"Finally finished the book"
so at first i found the book was dragging on nothing till about the middle of the book was keeping my attention, as far as the story it was a bit of a bore, the only in-site was when it was talking about loss and panic attacks i found them true to form, in general it was all a bit reality tv stile for the teen genre.
i wont be listening to it again.
