Publisher's summary

Fans of the Divergent series by number-one New York Times best-selling author Veronica Roth will be thrilled by Four: A Divergent Collection, a companion volume that includes four pre-Divergent stories told from Tobias' point of view.

Listeners first encountered Tobias as "Four" in Divergent. His voice is an integral part of Allegiant. Listeners will find more of this charismatic character's backstory told from his own perspective in Four: A Divergent Collection. When taken together, these long narrative pieces illuminate the defining moments in Tobias' life. The first three pieces in this volume - "The Transfer", "The Initiate", and "The Son" - follow Tobias's transfer from Abnegation to Dauntless, his Dauntless initiation, and the first clues that a foul plan is brewing in the leadership of two factions. The fourth story, "The Traitor", runs parallel with the events of Divergent, giving listeners a glimpse into the decisions of loyalty - and love - that Tobias makes in the weeks after he meets Tris Prior.

Totally love this series!!!

I'm an avid reader, but I'm very glad I picked this series to listen on Audible instead of reading it. The narrators have done an excellent job with all the characters and their quirky natures. I hope to hear more from this series.

Four was especially delightful, as we got to see him as a boy with more insecurities than anyone else in the
series. It was refreshing to hear his side of events.

Want more!!

I am hoping that there is more to come soon. This was amazing!! I like when there is a back story done in the secondary character's POV. With the little bit given about Four's past this was vital to understand him that much better.

A look into Four

I love this series, and it's really nice to have more story after you finish the series. It helps the sadness you feel when there is no more left. Four is a very interesting character, and it's a really cool look into his side of things. Answers some questions that I had while reading the other books, too.

I love that it gives insight to Four and why he hates his father so much.

4 Best?

This is the best book in the series. I was nice to see how 4 got his beginning. athe only issue I had with the book was it not going further in the the series well threw book 2 since book 3 was a back and forth between Tris and Four.

You'll enjoy it if you liked the series

I read the Divergent series and generally enjoyed the light reading. I decided to read this book as well. While it was still reasonably enjoyable, it really didn't expand the universe much and much of the story occurred in the same timeline as the original series. Ultimately this was worth some light listening while I was hiking, but I doubt I will remember much of it once I finish this review.

Definitely worth the read

I read this book after I was devastated by the ending of allegiant and couldn’t even bring myself to listen to the last chapter. I definitely now have an appreciation for Four and understand more of his character development. Absolutely made the book series 10x better

Great narrating. I liked the other divergent stories, and when I saw it was Aaron Stanford I had to listen. He did not disappoint!

Excellent listen!

I thought it was amazing. The insight from Four's perspective was really kool. I was a bit confused in a couple chapters, but the end cleared most of that up, plus I'll penalty relisten soon just to hear it again, so maybe I'll catch something I missed the first time.
I really appreciate the voice actor, Aaron Stanford. Amazing job portraying Four!
